More Feedback on the 3.14 Patch: More Base Defense Needed
After playing the 3.14 patch for a couple of days, I'm noticing that my characters are getting blown up a lot faster than they used to. I think this is because all of the new gold flowing into supports and jungles have increased the general amount of damage being dealt into the game. Previously, one could almost ignore the damage from a support or jungle tank and essentially focus on the (generally) three carries. But now, supports are building full damage and jungles often deal decent damage themselves. Essentially, the gold changes have added an additional damage carry to the game without increasing base defense to counter the additional incoming damage.
This has been an issue for tanks, carries, and supports I've played. My tanks haven't been able to survive and control a fight as long as they used to, making it much more dangerous to initiate a team fight. My carries have started to be blown up before the first stun wears off when attacked by only two players. Previously, I could count on being able to get off a combo and maybe exchanging a death with an attacker or getting off an Hourglass in time to slow them down. Now, the damage is coming so fast that I die before I can effectively retaliate.
My suggestion is that the general base defensive stats should increase across the board. More health, armor, and MR should increase further per level to counter some of the damage that was added to the game. Also, perhaps defensive tank items could get a small (10%?) increase in their armor and MR stats so that tank defensive items can scale well with the increased damage being dealt in the game.
