A small note regarding Rioter interactions

While it's probably not my place to make note of this, I kinda see this a lot. Quite often, when in a game with someone who happens to have the Riot tag or they just generally talk to a Rioter on the forums, a lot of people ask questions or try to reach Rioters on topics they have little-to-no information, knowledge or sway in. This then leads to people getting upset that the employee did not have the answer and, unfortunately, can lead to a general feeling of disappointment on both sides.

The primary thing I hope everyone knows is that each Rioter is very specialized in certain fields. Take for example Ironstylus. While the parrot is definitely the guy to ask about artistic upgrades, thoughts on looks and perhaps how an aspiring artist can join Riot? He's probably not the guy to take your balance questions to. Likewise, someone like Morello or Hippalus has absolutely no sway over disconnection errors and at best, they can only forward your problems to the appropriate department.

Partially why I felt this needed to be said is that, well, Rioters are people too. They feel bad when they can't help you and getting upset with them because they legitimately DO want to help. They simply lack the means to do so. Rioters are people too and they will do their best to assist you.

Hopefully the new community environment will be a bit less hostile to reds as opposed to the current forums. (While at the same time not baselessly praising them as Reddit tends to do. Rioters do great work but they're not always right :P )

What are you talking about. I'm always right!

To add on this, Rioters' profiles (shown when you mouse over a name) will show their field of work within Riot. If you want to talk to a Rioter you do not know yet, check that real quick so you can confirm they will be able to help you and give proper insight. Of course you can always ask their opinion on a matter like anyone as well, they're all still people and players. But as the Cap said, if you want facts, make sure you're barking up the right tree. :)

It has always bothered me when a Rioter posts, and people are like FIX THE SERVERS!!! when they are talking to a senior animator.

Though this seems to me a little like another "Vote hunt" post, I agree with you. Posts like "Riot, READ THIS" upset me to the most. Here, they upset me twice, because they get actually much more upvotes than relevant notices and awesome champion concepts.

What I find is that most Rioters will come in, make one post. Then leave for like a week before posting again. Or they will never post again but a different Rioter will. If Riot actually put a little more effort into helping the community, then people wouldn't have to spam things like "PLZ READ RIOT" or whatever. That aside, whenever they do come and help they aren't very amicable about it. It seems like they are helping not because they want to, but because it's their job.

Is there an "Ask Riot your questions!" thread?

I feel thread where people can straight shoot questions, and get straight answers, would solve a whole bunch of neglect issues.

It'd be swamped in the first day, but it'd ease off over time.

Speaking of Ironstylus, where is he? I've got a beef with him about a certain totally awesome old champ that is definitely deserving of a a visual upgrade and spell icons to better fit his awesome classic art. Also, you could make this guy about 100000x more badass with some creative tweaks to his animations. In case you don't know who I'm talking about, Jax .
