Whats with AP Ez at the moment?!?
I feel he is a tad too strong... or is that just me?

AP Ez, at least since his more recent buffs, has always been exceptional in terms of dealing damage. This pre-season saw new masteries that work well with him and the meta features squishier targets more than last Season.
While he has a lot of burst and damage, he has no form of CC, which is one of the most desirable aspects of AP Midlaners in most team comps. Lux/Brand/Ahri and other burst midlaners have some form of CC/Engage/Disengage built into their kit. Lux can snare and slow, while doing high damage. Brand can slow, stun, and burn entire enemy teams. Ahri has her charm, which can be extremely effective at times, alongside the mobility that Ez has over most other midlaners.
tldr - he has high damage and mobility, but not much else.
Hes always been one of the burstiest ap mids.
Thunderlords and the scaling arm and magic pen masteries compliment his kit
I was getting owned as an AP Ez mid in a game yesterday as Malz. He sent me back a few times the first few levels after going super aggro, but thankfully I managed not to feed him any kills. Once I got a couple points in my E, it was no longer an issue.
I agree with what Jasiwel said. The high damage and mobility were an issue at first, but once I was able to afk farm with my E, it didn't matter any more and I was able to do just fine against him. I guess it just depends on who you pick into him.
AP Ez has been strong for ages numberwise. The problems with him are that he's almost purely a damage mage, his early game is rather weak, and his waveclear is abysmal outside of using his ult.
Waveclear issues can f* him pretty much mostly in early but also later in the game.
But the CD reduction buff with Q also buffed ap ez not only ad ez :)
