How To Easily Climb (No Really)
This is coming from someone that doesn't win every game, but I've played long enough to see the reasons why people lose, and while I try to stick to these myself, once you get to the last one on this list, you'll see why I'm not stressing out about not being challenger or some such.
- Realize that sometimes it is YOUR fault you died/lost. Fix the issue, or at least don't repeat the same mistakes
- WARD - Seems straight forward. I've gone through about a dozen games recently where my mid laner wards once all game, my jungler zero times, adc never wards, and no one but me and one other person buys a single
the entire game. Just ward. It's easy, and you get a free ward. Use it...
- Realize there is more than the "fight fight fight fight fight" strategy to win the game. I had someone flame me last night for only having 3 kills, but I had most gold, most damage, and highest CS in the game. It ain't all about KDA and kills. Honestly that isn't important at all if you aren't doing anything BUT killing.
- Realize that "go mid and push as 5" is not only not the only strategy, but sometimes a really bad one. Don't flame laners for split pushing, and don't blame them when you are the one forcing fights without them (especially when they are taking towers and causing pressure by splitting).
- Your job as a jungler is to take objectives, and yes, to help your laners. You are not a secondary top lane who can ignore every dragon to chase kills. You aren't a split pusher that needs to be in side lanes, letting the enemy take free barons cause you refuse to do anything but split push. That isn't your job. Stop playing selfish. It's why you are losing.
- Treat your teammates like teammates, not like someone you are trying to compete with. They are there to win just like you are, so why not work WITH them to win, instead of flaming them, trolling them, letting them die to protect your KDA, etc. It's a team game, and ignoring your teammates is going a long way to losing.
- STOP FLAMING YOUR TEAMMATES - If you have to /ignore all, then do it, but you aren't helping anyone flaming, and to be quite honest, you are just tilting yourself more by throwing a tantrum. It doesn't make you feel better, it sure doesn't make them play better, and now you are just giving documented proof of why you probably need to be chat restricted at the very least (cause that dude you are flaming is probably gonna report you). Just stop.
- Learn from your mistakes. So you fed? That's sucks, why did you feed? You died to a gank, why? That build you tried wasn't so great, why? Try and figure out what you aren't doing right and go from there. Just trying to gain LP isn't going to gain you LP except in the short term. Learning how to improve and improving is going to maybe lose you some LP as you try to improve first, but in the long run, the LP is going to come much easier.
- The most important of all. Realize that sometimes, you can't win. This doesn't mean pout and spam surrender, but it means don't get worked up or bummed out because you lost. No one has ever had a 100% win rate, and no one ever will. You WILL get trolls, you WILL get inters, you WILL get afks, and sometimes YOU will play terrible, and you WILL lose. That doesn't mean you will always lose, but go into every game trying to win, but more so trying to improve. Just keep in mind that there is no guarantee you will win.
