Its been four years since riots last map which was howling abyss. I think riot should release a new map whenever they rework swain which will most likely add a big lore update and they can do a map which is something like Noxus vs Demacia but thats just something they could do.
I like the map we have.
To Riot, League = Summoner's Rift. They don't want to over-saturate the game with a whole load of different maps.
Would probably end up like dominion and Twisted Treeline (TT is of course still played but compared to SR...). And really the newest map was the Cosmic Ruins for the Dark Star event.
