Can you drop leagues via dodging games?

I just had a crybaby who didn't get the champ he wanted in champ select. Because of course there are people in ranked who only play one champ. I wanted to dodge but was sitting at 0. So of course he went support Nasus, stole our ADC's farm, never grouped up, and never bought a sightstone on purpose.

So is dodging safe at 0LP?

You can go negative, but you won't drop until you lose a match. I'll go try to find a quote for that.

Edit: Welp, sry. Found lots of player testimonial about it, but no Red input. Though even with just that, it's easy to conclude that going negative doesn't drop you; you have to lose a match with too low of MMR as well.

I'm pretty sure you can't, you just end up at like -3lp, although you'd probably get demoted if you lost the next game you played. I've dodged tons of games at 0 lp and never got demoted because of it. It might happen if you dodge while already at negative lp, I haven't tried that.

Nothing will happen to you.

It is safe to keep dodging.

Trust me.
