Stupid Avast blocking lollauncher.exe from starting

Avast blocked the launcher and now I can't get league to work now...

Actually you can just remove it from your vault and add it to a exception all at once without a reinstall.

Right Click avast icon in your system tray and select virus chest. find the lolLauncher.exe and Right click, restore and add exception

then your all good, might have to restart tho.

Just had this issue like 5 minutes ago and its a lot simpler than reinstalling the whole game if your internet is crappy

Thanks for catching this and setting up this guide, Mike, and thanks for reporting it Sona.

A few of us are working on making sure this won't happen again.

EDIT: Not 100% sure about the behavior of the issue, so redacted. I'll make sure to find someone who does understand the behavior better and can keep it from happening.

Your welcome, just trying to help other out when i can :) being a IT Tech helps sometimes :) hopefully it gets a quick fix for those not aware of the forum. I also made one in the help and support tab just in case its not being seen for some users.

This has been verified and submitted to Avast for whitelisting. I have no ETA on it being implemented, though.

Yea had the same issue and removing it from the chest worked. Weird that Avast has never done this before. Don't think there was an update or anything.

This just happened to me too...

Edit: I saw that avast put the file that starts the LoL launcher into its malware chest.

I've uninstalled league and added the league folder as an exception. You should do it too. It works now

But riot should see this.

I've uninstalled because after avast detects the false positive, you can't do anything to it. You need to re-install league again. Before that, add the Riot Games folder to the avast exceptions.
