250 for these icons is ridiculous. That's about 2.50 for a picture. C'mon Riot. Give these out for IP or something else. Let us buy icons with IP at 6300 a pop for all I care. It'll give the vets someone to spend their IP on.
The consistent addition of icons locked behind an RP paywall really makes the "I hate when people call us greedy" comment from tryndamere really look silly.

You know why icons cost RP? Because people are paying it. So why would they stop selling a product to someone else so they can give it to you for free?
The options are probably Icons for RP and Icons not existing. Not IP vs RP.

Look at chromas. Do you honestly think chromas are selling well enough to merit them making more? I have seen TWO players since chroma releases that use them. Two. These have got to be a business failure and yet we see more.
The reason I ask for icons to be IP or have some alt purchase is...well, look at the ones we have. We have a bounty of free icons but only for events. The old icons are outdated or got 1-3 updates.
Asides, why is it so bad to ask for a company to offer a product for a just price than to blindly swallow whatever they sell because "ITS A FREE GAME YOU DONT -NEED- TO BUY IT". It's free, sure, but I can call them out when they're trying to sell me something that shouldn't cost actual cash.

Its bad business to sell a product rather than give it away for free? I guess theres nothing wrong with the opinion that it isn't a legitimate product but people practically line up to buy them. So asking for them to be made free is a pretty ridiculous request.

I do think they are selling well enough to warrant making more. Why else would they make more? I do personally wish they weren't bundled and if they weren't I probably would be a couple but thats just me. Not every item is targeted at everyone.

Yes, they do give out some for free and sell some for IP, but I don't see that as any reason to make them all free. Sometimes they want to reward players, the rest of the time they are a business.

You don't have to swallow anything, you just have to not buy it. If enough people thought the way you did about icons for RP they wouldn't keep doing it. Why should something they spent time(thus money) to create ever be expected to be free?
