you never really think about it until you actually look so lets do that. all tanky supports that are or under 3150 IP

pretty good and the cheapest a champ can get at 430 IP so yay

aaaaand that's about it, yea only 4 and 2 have either transcended supportism or just suck

while on the other side of the price fence you get and which seems a bit unfair for someone who doesnt want to grind the 6300 or 4800 IP for one of these guys

Nunu can still work if you're good with him. Malphite works too he's not really a support in terms of what a support needs in teamfights, but if all you need is a scary tank in lane I've pretty much found his ult is a low elo winner. I pretty much have an 80% winrate with him between top, support, and jungle (and even a couple of TT games).

I'd also like to call Janna a tanky support IMO. She has a lot of good peel, and you can build her with good MS, but she also works nice with a really tanky build. It makes things so much easier to just be like 'Pardon me I'm gonna walk between you and ult now, or 'Excuse me I'm going to steal your focus so my team member can get away and then I'm just going to howling gale you in the face'

Notice though you listed 7 tanky supports. You also mentioned that 4 out of 7 tanky supports are under 3150ip. If you're at a low enough elo that you haven't had time to grind for Leona or Braum or Thresh, I believe Taric is also still viable. In fact in bronze/low silver I know all 4 of those are viable.

I LOVE Alistar, with the right ADC he is unstoppable and late game is he normally indestructible.

Shen can also work somewhat, not the best, but still usable as support. And at 3150 he isn't to bad to get.
