When real life intrutes on LOL
You ever have one of those games when real life just keeps trying to butt into your game when you were trying to concentrate.
In the space of about 5 minutes, I got the following two phonecalls (not exactly how they played out):
Me: Hello (blank blank) speaking
Scammer: (He has an indian accent) Can I speak to Mr (bla, he only said part of my last name)?
Me: Speaking
Scammer: Yes, I'm from Microsoft tech support, your computer has been repeatedly sending our servers critical warnings.
Me: I'm not aware of any problems or warnings.
Scammer: Yes. Your computer has been sending warnings to our servers. It's got a virus. Can you please turn it on so I can talk you through fixing it?
Me: I don't have any problems I know of, can you tell me a popular news site reference or official KB article about this issue so I can verify it independently?
Scammer: No. We are the tech support for your computer, and you have a virus.
Me: Screw you scammer.
So that call is over and I'm a little pissed off someone tried to interrupt my game for a cheap scam that set all my warning alarms off. Then a family member calls. While I'm in the middle of the same game I was just in.
Family member: I left my cell phone at home, can you look up a number on it for me?
Me: Who are you trying to call?
Family member: One of my friends I want to talk to. Come on, look it up for me.
Me: (got phone, swiping for calls and notification is awkward on it) You missed a meeting.
Family member: What?
Me: Yeah, I'm getting this message or reminder you had a meeting an hour ago.
Family member: Oh. (I read her the number) So I'm going to a salad bar for dinner with my friend, do you want to come?
Me: (while trying to play) Why would I want just a salad for dinner? Do they have any real food?
Family member: No.
Me: Then no I don't want to go get a 12 dollar salad.
Some days, you just can't play without interruptions.
