I was thinking that someone should start some sort of Community Driven Chat Room while the chat rooms inside of LoL are down... so I've thrown together a raidcall server with some of the chat rooms setup a bit like the chat rooms in LoL but with a few extra and obviously there will be moderation so... heres the RC ID to join 5124398 and it wouldn't hurt to leave a post here on your thoughts about this here...
I have spent an upwards of 20+ hours in the chat rooms and personally Im sort of glad they are down. I know that might sound like a buzzkill, but excluding the trolls and spam bots there still was almost no meaningful conversation ever. Maybe its my definition of the word meaningful, but none of it is actaully intelligent chat or ways to play.
There are a few people that are always there saying the same things they always say. There are the few plat/diamond players that go just to tell people how wrong they are and how good that specific player is.
Then there are the worthless dudes patrolling for internet girls and have no interest in doing or talking about anything else and in this same catagory are the women who leach and gain confidence off of the attention.
Then lastly there are the very few people that just go in there and dick around because they have nothing better to do.
I guess this might be coming off more aggressive or angry than I intend, but to me socially speaking, it feels like a really bad place to just "hang out in". There is nearly never any actual debates or conversation or sharing of cool ideas. If the chat rooms dont have any of that then really whats the point?
random late response, (the new forums are actually giving messages on when people respond) I think there just need to be more channels like there are forums. If i want to go talk about theory crafting I should have a channel where thats the only thing going on and is moderated to keep it that way. And then they can have a "social" channel where the people that want to waste time trolling can go for general topic conversation.
Basically my point is I would love them to bring it back, but only if its actually different things people can find WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR instead of just 1-3 things where the only thing that distinguishes them are what is and isnt full atm.
