Birthday gift random skin?

Not that I'm asking for free stuff(I totally am), but I mean, wouldn't it be nice to get a random skin for your birthday? Just set it in if you want, if not you don't have to and you just won't get the prize, and bam you'll get a free random skin every year for your birthday. Maybe there could be a limit so you don't get those 1820 RP skins, or maybe there won't? But it just seems like a pretty neat option. It would also help Riot get a fair survey of the average age of their players and who they should focus more on in terms of champ kits and skins and whatnot.

An interesting idea. You might be able to convince them of a Chroma Skin or something equally as low impact. Perhaps even link it to data they have based on your playstyle?

You played Master Yi the most this year? You get that Chroma skin on your birthday.

The players that try to 'game' the system by either broadening the different potential skins or focusing it down to one champion in particular will be more inclined to obtain specific products with RP (Champions for people going the broad route, skins for this 'main' for those going the focused route).

Obviously if you either already Own the Chroma Skin it goes to the next played champion for their Chroma. If you own all the Chroma skin, roll back to the most played for the least expensive available skin for that champion. If you own all of those cycle through each champion that fits that bill. If you somehow own all champion skins available, potentially a skin in the vault that isn't a player reward (Riot's already made it clear the Beta/Pre-Order/Magazine, the Old Pax Skins, and Ranked Rewards skins are super off the table for Essentially Forever).

If you're one of the rare few who has poured that much money into the game to have all the skins available and in the vault (which implies you have some, if not all, of the Rewards skins), well, don't have an idea on how Rito can reward those handful of people.

Edit: As others are addressing, yes there is huge codework built into it, and my thought is under the supposition that entering in your birthday in this fashion would set it in stone to prevent the 'every day is my birthday' abuse users could do.

Would it be nice? sure, but they arent obligated to do things like this. Plus with how they handout things youll get too many people complaining they didnt receive the gift the moment its their birthday. then youll have people who might want to cheat the system and "change their birth date" or had put in the wrong date (to bypass the age restriction)

it might just be too much of a bother. Because you would either need to make a system that identifies if there is a birthday every single day. Which could screw up and either not give out, or give to the wrong person. Either that or someone would need to manually check all accounts see if its their birthday and gift accordingly.

So what happens when someone imputed the wrong birth date? let alone that it still would need to make a system that checks every single account every single day (im sure new accounts are made daily) and check it every day to make sure. Do you know how many birthday there could be in a single day? especially since there could be like a hundred possibly thousands accounts that share the same birthday, or even birth month which would probably cause way too much stress on the system alone!

Then they put in the wrong birth date. Not that big of a deal. Just means they get their skin on some random day instead of their birth day. Think of it like a late/early birthday present, lol. Or maybe just a yearly skin.

Why not? There are plenty of companies that have this, why not a company as big as Riot?

Yes, but that means Riot would need to pay said company who owns that type of program to actually use it. You really think they'd do something like that? They'll make a program for themselves just like everything else they do for their game.

Also i hope you realize they already have a problem with giving out things like Mystery Gift/Icons! Just look at this board when they handout freebies (especially for mystery skins) youll see a ton of people make post saying they didnt receive it yet, or waited days/weeks to actually get something. There will be problems if they implement something like this (at least for the time being) and it just doesnt make sense when they already handout freebies from time to time!
