Gameplay boards in a nutshell xD

Lol. This is precisely why I decided to stop contributing to the chaos.

I'm going back to talking about gameplay/anything else.

I mean... the game is snowbally it's like some champs are exploiting the game while other champs are getting the shaft for reasons the previous ones haven't atm, now users are getting the shaft for playing the game their own way. Meanwhile riot says they made the game better. [zombie-brand-clap]

Yeah, so uh... I kinda caused a bit of a commotion with the crusade and what not.

My bad.

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

Crusade? You created a whole holy war. :P

And WON it too.

Never actually won a crusade before really unless one counts the Rioter Opeli crusade of 2014, which was well before my promotion to General, I was just a lowly Lieutenant back then.

I kinda don't know what to do now that Take the Draw's ban has been lifted...

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

How about you pick a random guy in PBM that got banned and try to lift it?

Or you can just go back to what you were doing before the fiasco.

I tried that once before.

Total backfire.

It was the WhyDoCatsBark Crusade of 2015.

Turns out he had slightly edited his chat logs before he posted them.

Ah, the old Editor's Gambit. A risky move for sure, but the accolades for success can be seen as wirth it.

Yeah, but if it fails you wind up roasted by Lyte. It was pretty hilarious, happened when we first moved to the boards so it's in my boards posting history if you wanna take a look.

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

I see. Btw how do you know the ban was lifted?

Wookiecookie couldn't take the heat on the boards so he ran to fanboy reddit to post an update. Saw it there.

Interesting way of wording it but w/e.

Good to know.

I feel like it's a bit cowardly of him and other rioters to post here, get downvoted because they need to be when they goof something, and then they run to reddit to post more because Reddit is less likely to roast them for screwing up.

Like, just man up and own it, ya know? Downvotes shouldn't make an adult terrified to do his job on the site made for that purpose by the company he works for. We only ever downvote rioters when they screw up, and a grown up should be able to handle hearing he's screwed up.

Dunno, it just rubs me the wrong way.

I get that, but you and peeps on either side really took the "either you agree with me or you're stupid" method of argument.

In subjective cases like this its good to keep in mind that there is no right and wrong answer to an extent, only answers. The trick is finding the best one. There are completely valid points on the other side as well, so just keep that in mind.

More relevant to your reply, I agree that WC should have thrown an update here.

To be fair, me, myself personally, only used that methodology in relation to the one OBJECTIVE component of this case. I didn't care at all about what people find acceptable as support play.

What I did care about was unfair and discriminatory treatment of an individual that would technically be illegal in any country on earth. Objectively speaking, there is a right and wrong that all players should be treated equally and fairly, and banning one person when millions have committed the same infraction is objectively wrong no matter how you slice it.

I'm happy he posted at all and owned and corrected the mistake. I would have preferred he do it here as well as there, but just that he did it at all goes to prove he's not a piece of garbage person, he's a well meaning and respectable individual with flaws and faults the same as any other and we probably were a bit overly harsh towards him. As usual, I suppose. Makes it tough to say I blame him for posting there rather than here.

Yeah I feel you.

Personally I was mostly on your side with the exception of draft pick being cancer. :P

I was mostly on the fence about the Nunu's thread. You and I both know he only called it support becuase thats what he queued for. In blind pick it would have been a duo jungle/dedicated counterjungler.

But I'm glad it's all under the bridge now. Hopefully this will die out faster than the Singed incident.

That's a personal opinion with like 2% objectively quantifiable data regarding the effectiveness of both systems.

It's objectively clear players communicated better and more often in lobby prior to it. It's not at all clear how much that slightly better communication process is better or worse than what we have now.

Most of us in high level play don't care. We just do stuff for the good of the team more often than not and we usually always have. It makes role selection more relevent for the other 99% of the community who actually cares about it.

Minor aside: I had a game last season in diamond promos where I queued as jungle, got it, and got into lobby with a challenger smurf who was one tricking Yi. He held the lobby hostage and said "I'm only playing jungle". The team started to groan since that was my role. I looked him up, saw the 83% win rate over 300 games, and said "Damn right you're taking jungle. I want muh free win!". Game starts, we leash bot side, he invades enemy red buff camp, I see what he's doing and abandon ez to lane alone, invade with him, we first blood the enemy jg 3 seconds later. Steal his raptors. Both of us flash over the wall and 3v1 turret dive enemy mid laner for kill 2. Then me and yi go to enemy blu buff, find the enemy jungler and ice him again. Meanwhile ez some how gets a double kill bot lane. The game timer finally hits 3 minutes and our team has 5-0 lead. We steamroll the game. Ace the enemy team with a naked nexus, and then the yi backs instead of ending. We question why. He says "it's ranked, I don't have my 1v5 penta yet." We all sit there dumbfounded. Then the yi goes in literally 1v5 and penta'd the opposing team. Enemy nexus explodes. Whole team is laughing so hard we are crying.

Such is the difference between high level play and the 99%. We steal roles, we do silly things, we abandon lanes, we troll instead of ending, but we do it all for the good of the team.

I was mostly on the fence about the Nunu's thread. You and I both know he only called it support becuase thats what he queued for. In blind pick it would have been a duo jungle/dedicated counterjungler.

Indeed.

Shiiiieeet, I do not and I'm a bit busy getting ready for work but there is a thread in gameplay with the link. Saw some one post it there in one of those 3 or 4 big threads, probably the one with wookiecookie in the title.

All that's missing is that you should have super-imposed a Nunu face onto the one swinging the fire. xD
