I see a lot of gifs from that anime (I'm guessing it's an anime?) these days, and I can't help but think of that Slugterra show that used to be on Disney.

... The animation looks... off, though. Like it doesn't look entirely natural or "organic," and it just looks weird. -Puts on a downvote poncho-

Yeah... That's just lazy artists -- not really surprised though, America tends to advocate laziness and shortcuts (looked it up, and apparently it's an American anime-type thing).

The models are made with cell-shaded rigid 3D bodies, which means much more limited movement, and without motion blur to hide it, you get the slightly unnatural look.
