This is true. Riven is absolutely terrible to play against. Sure the bad ones are bad. But good ones, even people who have a marginal understanding of how to play her, are exceedingly frustrating. Riven can murder you in seconds and then hop away; She can outlast you in lane with her shielding and her independence from needing mana or energy, and then punish your lane when you have to back. She feels unfair to play against, and she feels unbeatable when she has a lead. At least Yasuo explodes when focused, even with a lead. Riven just laughs, shrugs off the damage because she's built the Triforce and one HP/AR item, and then mauls your face. She's probably one of the most ill designed characters in the game, especially since most of her mechanics are now spawning from loopholes and exploits in the faulty spaghetti code.

Jesus Christ am I back in like 2013 again? I have taken essentially a 3 year break or so with less than 100 games in 2015 and 2016 combined and yet it feels like nothing has changed at all.

Riven doesn't build Tri-force, has a lower winrate than Yasuo, Yasuo has a 60% ban rate Riven's is 3.7. This isn't 2013, there are far more bloated champions in the game now.

Riven's still a problem ,she's just been hit with legitimatly hard nerfs, while Yas hasn't til recently.

Same thing with LeeSin

There are FoTM champs, then there are champs that are just consistently good. Zed used to be among them till his rework made him more lackluster. Ahri Lux Riven Zed LeeSin Yasuo Janna Elise (she dips up and down, if you've been in past seasons) Jayce (same with elise) Leblanc Kayle Rengar Ryze

Riven doesn't get a bunch of love taps like other champs do, she usually ends up being oppressive, before being hit with large nerfs. Last nerf were the youmuu/lethality changes, but she got buffed a while later as lethality was made better early.
