Why do people act like the vertical dimension is superior?

I was in a blind pick match making and someone called 'top' AFTER I had already called 'left'. Then he acted like I'm trolling and should give up my lane because he used the vertical dimension to refer to their lane. The lane is just as much on the left side of the map as it is at the top!

I hereby stand up to make an end to the discrimination towards dimensions and to declare that ALL directions are of equal value, whether they're Horizontal or Vertical.

So stop saying that someone's lane call is not legit because he used a different dimension than you did. Stop with the ignorant attitude that the vertical dimension is the one true way!
