Personally, I enjoy writing about the darker aspects of League lore more than the shipping bits. Things like...

How horrifying it would be to fight against your sibling in a League match. I mean, I know that Garen and Lux aren't that close, but even so - imagine spending a few hours murdering your brother or sister, then going to a family dinner afterward. "Hey, pass the salt, and try not to think about running me through and leaving me to bleed to death on the edge of the river."
What happens to the characters that have been defined by their goal when they finally reach it. Kayle and Morgana, for example - they've been fighting each other for literally thousands of years, so what happens when one side finally wins? How does each character cope with the fact that the purpose they've been working for is gone?
A much darker take on Lulu's backstory. I mean, yeah, she's pretty carefree on the surface, but she's a kid that had her entire life taken from her and was kicked out of her home. That's going to leave a mark.
Some existential angst from everybody's favorite lich. What? No, not Karthus; I'm talking about Irelia.

But yeah. I haven't written in too long. I should do it again.

Character struggles are always fun. I tried writing a Pantheon fic before his lore update that dealt with his disappointment in finding a worthy opponent. It sadly didn't do well.

I literally can't stand reading most fics. There's only a few actually good ones, and normally they aren't pairings.

The problem is that there are so many bad authors out there (most of them fanfic writers) that it's really hard to sift through the crap and find the good ones....

I can relate. Having to sift through fics and catching some of the most disturbing summaries and pairings just to find a good one isn't worth it all.

Yeahhh, there's some REALLY creepy stuff about. And then there's the average quality of writing vomits. Don't even get me started on the grammar of 75% of "authors" on fanfiction.net

I fully agree. I completely stopped going to the site for a long time. I only recently went there again just to find something to read since I was bored almost to death. Thankfully I found one actually well written fanfiction that I like.

Now I only really go there just to see if this one fic was updated since I was last on.

Yeah... Most good writers don't write fanfiction unless they're hurting for characters. There are some good fanfiction authors, (apparently my friends stumbled upon an old fanfic of mine and really liked it without realizing who wrote it.) but they're few and far between, or working on another project. (The aforementioned is unfinished and on hold indefinitely.)

I found a Kha'Zix x Rengar fanfic on the boards once. SPOILERS: Kha's son had to eat his brother so his brother couldn't die...I think, it was pretty murky. No, not YOUR version of that. The one where Vel'Koz doesn't ever show up was okay. The guy who posted the one with Vel here... I'm looking at you/

I've stopped reading League fanfiction because no matter what site, I only ever find Lesbian porn. Like no offense, it's just my aversion to all things lady parts acting up.
