Oh my god, you have no idea how many times this happens to me in ARAM. I keep ending up being an ADC, being the only one who buys a 
to get rid of shrooms and right before I kill it, someone (normally tanky) will run right through it to poison everyone around it and nearly kill me in the process. On a few occasions it actually did kill me >_>
