I still disagree with it.

The problem came from Riot removing the metal that made Mordekaiser. The reason "Master of Metal" didn't fit anymore was because Riot took it away. Arguably the most important part of the champion stripped away in favor of keeping his abilities the same-ish, and new particle effects.

What Morde needs is a full on Sion level rework. Throw his abilities in the trash and bring out what makes the Master of Metal. The problem wasn't the idea of Mordekaiser, it was the design.

Yeah, I agree. Changing his title to something that doesn't suck is just a tiny band-aid on the much larger issue of Riot rolling out a rework that completely destroyed an established champion while completely ignoring negative feedback from pretty much all corners of the community at every stage.

The backlash is gone, and people are now partying over still losing the title that fits best.

"Master of Metal" is a reference not just to his armor, mace, and magic (which should be metal magic Riot), but to metal music. To change it to iron is taking away that reference which really is core to his character. If he's not about metal music, why is every ability (even the new DragonForce) a reference to metal music?

Iron Revenant to me is like Riot saying "Okay we can't change the title to bland ghost dead guys, but we also can't give the community what they want back and admit we were wrong. Break out the thesaurus!!"

I am only in favor of a rework BACK to Master of Metal. Instead of ghosting out his kit to homogenize him with the rest of the Shadow Isle, they need to bring that metal back and make it shine.

Surely The Shadow Isles can Afford to have some PHYSICAL weaponry. Mordekaiser is some Supernatural power inside A Big, AWESOME, Metal Armour, With a big AWESOME Metal Weapon, and Controls Big AWESOME Metal Magic.

What I'm getting at is that I agree partially. I don't think he needs to be changed to fit the "Theme" because he ALREADY Fit the theme - A Spirit from the Shadow Isles that Beats the shit out of people. With Metal. HEAVY Metal.

And Coincidentally that's His favourite Music, too.

I certainly like The Iron Revenant more than Lord of Death, but I would have preferred The Paladin of Pain. Of course, this is a good way to keep the metal theme in Morde's title, so I don't have too much to gripe about.

Good Question. Another good question: How do you stop that from being abused? will the camp's respawn timer start immediately on taming the creep?

I think maybe could tame a monster camp after defeating it, and they come along with you, to tame them after they have been defeated you can click their camp area like you do the turret area with Azir's Sun Discs.

I don't think it would have to be that complicated, just tame them after defeat and they accompany you, no need to complicate jungling further.

Medieval stories of revenants have common features. Those who return from the dead are wrongdoers in their lifetime, often described as wicked, vain, or unbelievers. Often the revenants are associated with the spreading of disease among the living.

Mordekaiser shows up, spreads disease as he passes, is wicked, has perform evil acts (necromancy) in his life, and wields metal.

Iron Revenant really does fit Mordekaiser well.
