One is fine. I've gone against diamond top laners as a high silver/low gold top lane main and done just fine. It was a fun lane phase and a great learning experience.
Multiple, however, is not fine. It's always a stomp that leaves no room for learning from clearly better players. Your wards don't matter, you fall behind on CS and levels, and you just get to sit there while they control everything outside of your fountain until the 20 minute mark.

I love when this happens in a normal game. If you don't let it psyche you out and look at it as a learning experience, you can have fun losing.
