Varus is gay and now I can't relate to his character anymore

The reason I couldn't relate to Lucian who lost his family was because he was black, the reason I couldn't relate to Vayne who lost her family is because she is female. Riot, why can't you be more inclusive about characters who lost their families? Do you expect me relate to people who aren't exactly like me?
