which is ridiculous since its been in the lore since the start of harrowing as being one of the most important holidays in Valoran:

Each calendar year, the celestial bodies of Runeterra align in a particular astronomical event. This lengthy occasion - beginning with a partial eclipse on the 18th of October and culminating in a full solar eclipse on the 31st of October - is of one of the most significant holidays in Valoran. The alignment occurs annually around the time of the harvest, and is known as the Harrowing due to its dusky setting. For obvious reasons, the occasion is marked by superstitions surrounding the world's dark denizens, creepy crawlies, and things that generally go bump in the night.

While rural folks still believe that this is a time of great foreboding, most of Valoran has taken to commemorating the Harrowing through a bit of good, clean fun. Citizens of the city-states don monstrous costumes and exchange holiday sweets with one another as part of the revelry. Large costume parties, where patrons wear either light or dark costumes (with the intention of either warding off or confusing evil) are quite popular, and those of opposite colors are encouraged to exchange gifts with one another. However they're celebrating, all across Valoran, spirits are as high as the night is long.

and yes I know they can change the lore/storylines anyway they like anytime they want, but it all just seems super fishy, how that post you linked was announced less than 2 weeks ago, on a forum that would barely get read (in the PBE section).

It was almost setup to seem like:

Trundle "hey guys were not going to be able to focus on harrowing and do Worlds at the same time, so we need to decide on what to do" Teemo "well why not just cancel harrowing, and post an announcement on one of the least popular sections of the boards, so no one can say we didnt warn them of this, and just tell them its not cancelled but rather postponed...." Trundle "brilliant! give this man the +1 cookie hat"

and I mean there is still no word from any Rioter on the subject after all the countless posts about Harrowing.

The biggest thing that sticks out to me about this is that the shadow isles and Bilgewater aren't mentioned here. also if you read this year's harrowing story you would notice that Olaf seemingly has never heard of the harrowing before reaching bilgewater and hearing the residents speak of it, meaning that at the very least your version of the harrowing doesn't happen in the Freljord, but more likely not at all.

But then you also have the new story in Karthus's updated lore in which he brings the black mist out to a noxian ship. Having mentioned this one though I have to remind myself that it isn't ever mentioned exactly how far from the shadow isles this ship is, nor is it mentioned how far the black mist can normally reach from the isles. However most of what I read implies that all but Mordekaiser and Kalista are confined to the island itself except during the harrowing. And while it isn't mentioned if it's during that time of year or not I would assume that since the noxian ship was not at port during this time it is either not recognized as a real threat or the harrowing is unpredictable. Also given the contents of Karthus's origin it can be assumed that at the very least the shadow isles and harrowing are known to Noxus, so likely are recognized as at least a minor threat for their navy.

In my above example I do recognize that it says the person in charge didn't realize they were near the shadow isles, and that they had been without wind and attempting to row in every direction to find land, likely bringing themselves closer to the isles. And I recognize that the time between the 18th and the 30th is a very long time to have an entire navy at port. So there are a few holes in logic, but the point is still somewhat sound I think. also if it wasn't clear this is the defend the whole "Harrowing can happen any time of the year" thing. If anyone can poke holes in my argument please do. I never claim to know everything and enjoy being corrected because then I know more, as long as the people correcting me are correct themselves.

For all Juggernauts actually did for fun new gameplay, they should've just made a patch that gave Red side one ban and called it a day. Then they could've paid more attention to the Harrowing.

Side note about Gangplank - I don't like his doubloon mechanic because it cranks the Farmville factor up to 11. Also, I never really see much counterplay in pro games with the barrels. The mechanic seems to be easily controlled by GP 90% of the time or more. Simply put, if the game lasts X minutes, he will max all three and steamroll. I have a feeling that if they nerf him down to a balanced state in pro play, then he'll be pretty lackluster for sub-optimal farmers.

I mean, it isn't like they couldn't postpone worlds for a couple days or so that the Harrowing could be handled on Halloween (after all, worlds can happen at literally any time, it isn't like it is on a rigid schedule like Halloween is). That, or if postponing the Harrowing was the only option, then they could have been far more open about it instead of having an obscure post that is buried somewhere in the boards (or was it reddit? Meh.)

It should have been something on the front page announcing that they would indeed still have the harrowing, but that they would be doing it a bit later.

Personally to me, as another post said, its called being time efficient. As a professional company, they should have been able to juggle Worlds and Harrowing at the same time.

That being said though. As long as it is semi near Halloween, thats all that matters as far as I am concerned at least. And I mean as in like as long as its before Thanksgiving. If they wait any longer, then they are being lazy.
