Its good on paper because of the amount of utility in her kit (Slows, Poke, Vision, Long Range Stun) but i think shes too squishy and relies too much on damage. She can do the same from ADC AND have more damage...

Actually by nature supports are squishy and primarily offer heals, shields and cc. You are thinking of tanks being used in the support role, who offer cc and a large amount of "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" for the team.

Most supports offer cc, Soraka - Silence/Slow Sona - Stun/Slow Blitzcrank - Just about god damn everything about him.

Ashe has cc but outside of her ult she has little to contribule to a fight in the longer term. Sona / Soraka Have heals to keep over and the only reason Blitzcrank is because his cc is super oppressive.

Also like i said, she can do the exact same from the ADC role and arguable better because of her slow scaling w/ crit.

Besides insane damage is she ever got item 3042 and item 3508 together.

My brother took down a Mundo with that combo and didn't even have item 3036 yet.

true but another problem is Lack of money to afford such items. Supports dont earn enough gold to efficiently get those items. an ADC's damage items are rather pricey.

I think that's why the supportive items item 3303 item 3301 item 3302 have a passive gold income.

He's supposed to be able to support. Originally his Q could heal allies who attack the target he marks (pretty much throw your Q on a minion, ADC attacks it, ADC heals over a few seconds). his effectiveness as a support is lacking after Riot changed his kit, but it still works.

Yeah, he's a bit more of a "top-laner-gank-to-support" but can be played as directly support if you really want to.

those are all tank supports though (except for Draven ). In all fairness each of those could be used top, but most of them don't have the damage required to keep up with the current demands for top lane (in other words, damage output). Back when I started, you could easily take a tank top. Sure, you were going to have a hard pushing the lane, but you were practically unkillable if you got fed.

He's talking about supports like Nami Sona Soraka Bard Zilean Lux Lulu Janna Orianna Morgana Karma who are mostly about the Utility and CC and get easily blown up.

I think Riot liked the idea that she CAN be used as support to the point that they wanted to officially maker the "Support ADC". Sure, the current support items don't really work for her, but maybe one day we will have a line of AD Support items and then I can finally whip out my support MonkeyKing without a confusing the hell out of my team :p
