Surrendering just gives them fewer chances to fuck up.
It's especially true in bronze, where one second you could be getting your ass kicked, but then your Vayne smashes her face on her keys like she has this entire game, somehow aces the enemy team instead of dying again, and face rolls straight to the enemy nexus and wins the game for you.

I once lost a game as a super fed Shen. Our team was up by 30 or more kills. We had taken out all the enemy turrets and inhibitors. We had taken every dragon. We had killed baron repeatedly. But after an hour of game play, the enemy team managed to ace us and their final build Trundle took out our base.
Don't ever tell me to surrender again. There's always a chance!
