I mean, you did agree to an electronic contract with Riot by making your account. Land of the Free only applies to federal jurisdiction; Riot doesn't have to maintain the illusion of free speech at all if they don't want to because you signed a contract explicitly with them based on their terms, meaning your First Amendment bears no power here.

Though I wish they were more consistent sometimes.

Just because I signed a contract doesn't mean the contract itself can violate the law.

As for consistency, I could give two shits about the in-game one, but the Boards need a strict set of rules that everybody must follow, instead of vague guidelines that anybody can interpret their own way.

For example some time ago I posted a meme with a spider burying in white sand with word "cocaine" in captions and it was removed, because "talking about drugs and non-prescribed drugs (...) violates Universal Rules" while the Universal Rules only say "Illegal Activities or Drugs (...) please don’t talk about your activities or plans on these boards".

At this point I'm sure I know Riot's own rules better than they do, which is very sad.

You're right, I don't think my wording was directly related to how I feel as well. I look down upon those who use the word rape so nonchalantly but I know that I don't hate these people if they have this one trait.

So i guess better wording for myself would be look down upon, disapprove, dislike, something along those lines.

I guess I'll try to extend it on my own. Difference in shunning the rape in reality and not being able to use the word. That all I can get out of this, I don't see much of a comparison that could be made because the topics are purely different.

I've repeated myself numerous times here, most of which breaking many assumptions people are making of me. I am fine with the word being used as well, I am against it being used so casually in response to some simple situation, "wow I got raped". I don't think such a strong word could be used so simply without thought, I don't think the word should be forbidden though. I have laughed at many dropping of soap jokes.

I understand this to an extent, I laugh at racist jokes and stuff, even those against my own race. I feel that people just use the word so casually, especially for youths and that is an issue. When people use the word because something 'bad' happened to them they say 'x raped me' or 'you got raped by x' I just disapprove entirely. However you get those drop the soap jokes and I can see the humor in that and I do laugh. It is like using the N word in a sense, a horrible word when used so casually if you ask me but I think it is fine in humor.

I also wouldn't say it needs humor.

Well, it has humor injected into it by people regardless. I watch some horrible, horrible videos often enough and even in those videos people are going to make light of what they're seeing, in part because it's who they are, and in another part because it makes for an effective coping mechanism.

Everything receives humor of some sort. Rape is not an exception to that just because we will it to be. I wouldn't joke about it myself, but I can't stop other people from doing so.

Of course, humor covers everything. I'm fine with humor made about rape, although I am pretty against it, I'm also against people littering but I'm not gonna start hating these people. When used so casually and in an everyday sense though, that is when I think a line should start being made. You don't know who is reading what you're saying or who is listening nearby and also I feel it's just too wrong morally.

I hate to sound crass and uncaring (because I really do care about what people think and feel) but sometimes you just have to be prepared to see things that are going to bother you, in any situation. We can do our best to help them out, which is why I personally don't joke about those topics, but since we can't see ahead of time what's going to bother people, we can't reasonably force everyone to censor themselves for the off-chance that someone will be around and bothered by it. More than just rape bothers people, after all. Abuse is relatively often referenced and joked about as well, but that one doesn't get as much attention despite the potential for being as traumatic as rape can be. I've seen many haunting things and had to deal with a lot of terrible things, I have to be prepared to be reminded of those things any time I go online.

To be clear, don't confuse what I'm saying with accusing them of being weak or easily bothered or thin-skinned or anything like that, but after a certain time they don't have to necessarily "get over it" (how do you "get over" rape or abuse, after all?) but they will need to find a way to deal with it being brought up in some way, even if it's hard. That's just life, unfortunately. Life is hard. :\

Also, this applies mostly to other places. I think Riot has a no-rape type of policy they can enforce, so realistically people shouldn't joke about rape if for no other reason than not violating the rules they agreed to, but not every place necessarily has this rule, and in those places you can't expect people to censor themselves against what might bother someone else.

"Getting raped" refers to getting beat in a game insanely hard. It's a synonym for getting stomped.

While I agree that some things (like the infamous "kys") are stupid and should not be used I find it highly offensive that you think you are someone more mature when, in fact, you act like a very fragile person due to getting offended by what I wrote.

Getting raped in an online game is in no way an equivalent to getting raped IRL. People confusing or even mixing those 2 phrases up REALLY need to get away from gaming for a while, because they lost the contact to the real world.
