I actually just found out his voidlings dance as well yesterday and now that you can summon at least up to 5, you can now have a 5 man group of backup dancers. Whatever this patch does to mages, this is probably the best thing that came out of it :p

Our playstyle has changed pretty significantly and we must adapt to changes. Ad jungle is sooo much smoother now. Actually the correct spelling for the name would be Malthazar but Riot wanted to be different and made him the Malz we know :p ~another malz main

Not really. Doing so without taking damage is impressive but every game I went AD Malz Jung I'd do it just by spamming all my spells and tanking a bit. But yeah. "Malz can take drag at level 3 op" well gee, so can a lot of other champs. I'm sure he needs nerfs, kinda figured he would, but this isn't a big deal.

Not at lv5 man, Baron hasn't even spawned by then. But yes. Malzahar can solo baron with 30% cd when it spawns if he isn't too much behind.

Remember, can solo baron when he has 2 items and sated devourer. can solo baron, can solo baron, can solo baron, can solo baron, can solo baron, can solo dragon at lv3, can solo dragon at lv3.

Ofc it's your problem if you don't ward/ contest for drake/baron when you see an objective-focused team. I've been killed thousands of times when i've tried to solo baron with Aatrox .

Support Malz would probably not work out of lane. In ae he can drop E-W then wait a bit to hit Q so the E duration refreshes and successfully zone out and poke down a Marksmen. But with low Damage items Malzahar doesn't seem like he'd be much use in a teamfight except to ult.

I played pre-rework Malzahar as a support in normals fairly often. While I wouldn't necessarily say he was top tier, he proved surprisingly viable in the role -- in an off meta sort of way.

In the laning phase, voidlings + malefic visions made for incredible harass, also proccing spellthief's very easily. His Q was very good for thwarting ganks (i.e. most junglers struggle to gap close when silenced), and his R put on a lot of kill pressure. I found he worked well with ADCs with high burst or lockdown post 6 (e.g. Ashe Graves MissFortune ). His ultimate also gave him powerful roams, allowing him to transfer a lead from bottom to the rest of the game.

He remained rather relevant in teamfights. Max CDR and spam Q to keep priority targets silenced. Use R to peel for your carry or lockdown a priority target. Really, the hardest part was mastering landing that Q. Before I did, he was useless (outside his ult); once I'd done so, he became pretty darned disruptive.

Being Malzahar, he also had excellent wave clear, a fact which allowed me to exert a lot of pressure on lanes when needed. Consequently, there were actually many games where I became quite fed and transitioned into a carry role myself.

Looking at the changes, I don't see any reason to believe support Malzahar wouldn't still be viable.

Would I do it in ranked or in any high elo game? Heck no. But give it a shot in normals. It works better than you might expect.

He may be a better jungler, but not a better support. I've done support Malzahar pre-update (I've taken every champ I own into support role) and he has great poke and his ult can set up kills for the ADC, but he has nothing else other than that. You might as well be Brand or Annie or literally anyone else.

You really need some sort of peel to be a support.

It's mainly Jungle Malzahar. He can solo Dragon at Level 3 and then solo Baron (unless this was changed) with 40% CDR.
