When you found out what a champion was supposed to do...

Was doing bottom lane with a buddy in voice chat, I was vayne, they were morgana. We utterly destroyed the enemy bottom lane, getting 8 kills in ten minutes off some amazing binds and condemns. Found out the enemy toplaner was banging on the door to the base. Figured, what the heck, this should be easy, I'm fed.

Suddenly he goes super huge, puts a huge purple thing on the ground and I slow to a stop and get owned.

"Huh. So I guess that's what Nasus does." Hovered over the death report that told me the ability he used to pretty much two shot me, and figured out that he got more and more powerful every time he killed something with it. Well, that would have been nice to know earlier.

Anyways, this is a story from way back in the day. I figured I'd share because I imagine other people have funny moments like it to share about their first encounters with a champion that was being played well.

I suspect there will be many funny stories of Singed.

Recently, I was playing ranked 3's, we are on blue side, the enemy's first rotation of picks is darius and blitzcrank. I instalock amumu. By the end of that game, they knew what amumu did when pulled into the center of a team...

when i first played katarina i thought, "Time to start off my first game with this person by learning all the things i shouldn't do." then the adc died in a very stupid way doing a very stupid thing and their excuse was even more stupid than the reason they died so i got really mad and just wanted to slam my head on something. So i did. When i slammed my head on my keyboard i just hear quadra kill! and i look up and i see that i got a quadra kill with katarina by repeatedly slamming my face on my keyboard and that was when i realised, " So that's what katarina can do!"

When I first started playing, I thought Zyra was an adc simply because she's ranged.

When I first started playing and saw Akali on my team, I thought standing in her shroud would buff me. I thought she was a support btw.

When I joined League, I wanted to get Lux so bad. As a touhou fan, part of what introduced me to the game was the references "Wriggle's Lantern" and, of course, Lux's Final Spark. I wanted Lux for lasering purposes basically. Then I found Syndra and was all like "GAAAAASP!! THAT ONE'S AWESOME!"

... I learnt what Syndra is like during a free week. My first response was "This is fun! ... But really haaaaard..."

I also played a lot of Ashe Top Lane to get Lux, and I do NOT remember how I learnt where the ADC is actually supposed to go! :D

'Draven's AP right? Or is he ad? Cause I know Varus is AP, and he's so op!' my friend asked me during Draven free week, as he was picking him in the lobby.

'If you q and you're running away/chasing someone, you gain movement speed based on the stacks of bleed' 'Your ult doesn't go on cooldown immediately if you land the killing blow with it. Use it as a finisher and stop using it when they're at full health' - me, explaining Darius to the same friend 'I did not know that!'

My best piece of advice to new players is to learn everything that every champion is capable of. Play each champion on free week, even if you don't think you'll like them. I explained this early to my friend, and he's been playing for a few months and still asks me what certain champions do. I'm guilty of not following my own advice though...

Me, playing Malphite just a few weeks ago: 'Why do I keep going faster after I use one of my abilities. Is it my e?' /continues popping q and w consecutively 'Pretty sure it's my e' /gets curious and actually reads tooltip 'OH. My q steals movement speed!'

When I first started playing, I built Sejuani AD because I honestly had no idea what she scaled with. I actually enjoyed it and still play Sej bruiser-style occasionally.
