I love seeing the VU's and I'm looking forward to seeing the VU's for Taric Poppy Anivia Amumu Warwick (whenever those are) . What I hate is when a champ gets a complete overhaul without one... >_> Mordekaiser

A texture update isn't much of a VU. Edit: To the people who can't understand; I said a TEXTURE UPDATE wasn't a visual update.

What happened to Heimerdinger was a Model and Texture update.

What happened to Mord was not.

riot said the texture updates they have been giving to champs (example: renekton, kassadin) are just temporary they are still candidates for future full scale visual updates

its just a temporary thing because who the fuckk wants to look at over pixeled mordekaisar/kassadin

That was a texture rebalance, not a model upgrade. The model itself hasn't changed, which is what constitutes a "VU" for most people.

huh. as it stands i think he looks perfectly fine. Played against an uncle Ryze today that looked fine, i like my dark crystal skin and i think the base is good too.

I mean he's certainly no poppy or urgot who clearly look like a color and shape nightmare on the rift. i have no problems with him as is.

you can normally tell how old their model is by how large their feet are. Ryze doesn't exactly have pizza feet, but he definitely has bigger feet compared to the newer champs.

If you want a perfect example, look at the size of Pantheon's feet in every skin besides Glaive and Dragonslayer, the two newest.

They ruined the METAL on all of the Pentakill skins.

Like, the literal metallic shine. They used to look so much better.

Yep. There is something "plastic" about the new appearance of Pentakill skin components (particularly metallic ones). Pentakill Mordekaiser in also lost a huge amount of detail.

A lot of people have said that the new model is "cleaner". I don't personally think that an undead warrior, garbed in battle-worn armor, and bearing a heavily notched axe should look "clean" in the sense that a toy action figure fresh out of the box does.

Some of the visual updates have been fine on release, some have been good after changes based on community feedback, and a few are still primarily downgrades. Giving feedback is part of our role as the product consumers. When the Fiora update came through, I did think that the new hairstyle was off, and though I didn't "complain" myself (I don't play Fiora), I am glad that others did since it resulted in a better final product. That's my stance on the so-called "whining".

Hm... I honestly must disagree that it looks better while zoomed out. Viewing them side-by-side, zoomed in or zoomed out, I think the old Pentakill Mordekaiser looked better. Even zoomed out to the size of my thumb on the screen, the new Pentakill Mordekaiser distinctly has a washed-out artificial plastic/spray-paint/modeling-clay appearance that I find extremely undesirable. I also find it really easy to spot the lack of detail in the new Mordekaiser's equipment while zoomed out. It's still a nice skin, but it looked entirely better before in my honest opinion.

I agree that it looks too much like plastic, but Morde before the TU looked like a scrable done with the pen :P

The only thing that they could have kept from the old texture was the guitar... but at that point the comparison with the remaining of the texture could not stand, don' t you think?

I am not saying that it' s excellent or optimal, just that is a step forward a better texture but done too small.

His Captain Gangplank skin retains that joviality while giving him the tone of a cutthroat scalawag. It fits for him being basically the (now former) king of Bilgewater. When I hear him, I think less of Davy Jones and more Barbossa.
