Lichbane Sona poke too stronk.
Also, Iceborn Gauntlet Braum is amazing. Too many slows. There is no escape.

Actually did this recently as the game was extremely long and we had a DC and needed some extra damage and bigger heals.
thats my route with her as well but with Ludens echo thrown in as well when im going apc Sona if the team is snowballing. the 7% movement speed helps her move that slow ass booty a little better and boosts the damage potential from her power chord in team fights considerably. plus the 30% bonus from rabas and the AP scaling on her skills, girl gets mean when played as a damage dealer over strict support.
My most recent typical build (for full build); this hits the CDR cap without going over due to masteries (4/5/21):

Then, once I'm fed enough, sell the tier-2 frost blade for
.
I imagine if we haven't won by this point I'd probably go back to the
and sell the sight stone for
or something equally entertaining.
It is worth noting I typically use my Akali rune set over my mage rune set. Why? I really like hybrid penetration on Sona for my early poke. Most ADC run with armor runes and it makes my power-chord autos hit harder and well, Sona is a caster so magic penetration all the way. I don't find support oriented rune choices to work very well for Sona.
I usually go tear on sona c:
And I usually go

And I'll have a full tank page set up.
I may not have the skin but I call it my Pentakill Sona.
dat sexy AP bruzer sona
Why not get
instead of
? It's way more utility that you can use on an adc or other squishy to get out of tight spots, or just heal, while still giving you just as much mana regen.
Mainly I've just never tried that item I suppose, but to think on it I'd prefer the extra AP and CD reduction as well. The idea with the build is to be like a tank more than support, you'd be stunned and be a target for a moment (consequently making the enemy take a ton of sustained damage) than to bait an attack and then run away. Basically with this build you'd rather be a martyr than bait.
But at the same time, if you're trying to bait things like that and tank CC, then it's still really worth to get
so you can break CC if you're tanking too much, AND heal.
Also, with the current meta, you really only need a tank at top/jungle and a brawler/off-tank.
Fair enough point, and as I said I've not tried the build with that item, but that is largely because I've only ever used the build on Howling Abyss so, less need to be a full tank and more to just be a partial tank but still be a pain to people (plus its fun!).
If/when I try this out on Summoner's Rift I think I might just try that.
40 minutes in =\
I normally don't bump these types of threads but take my +1 sir.
with a
:D
WTF xD
What? I thought everyone went
on Soraka...
You're going to make me try... stahp
Try it... you can actually get kills, and you're still helping your ADC by being a priestess of the blood. Really good if you get a
combo on it, but that can be rough on a supports salary. Bonus points for the reaper skin.
You sir have given me a reason to play Soraka again.
I thank you. :)
But personally I don't like her Reaper skin; not enough thought and effort put in I think.
Her reaper skin is my default skin. She goes from a celestial healing goat, to a harbinger of death...who still heals and prevents death.
I cannot tell you how quickly I instabought it. It's one of very few skins that I never regretted an ounce. I mean look at her other ones.....they're really awful, she almost doesn't change at all.
Hey, the other skins are ALL cool >:3
when i first started out I though
aura would stack if different people got it (I understood I couldn't get multiple and have a greater aura myself, but for some reason I didn't understand the unique passive didnt stack with other people's same aura) so I used to always build it and I would try and get everyone to build it so we could have +50% lifesteal and +100 ad in a group, which would be awesome lol.
Next game mode right there, whatever else is involved the items can stack buffs. DEATH TO THE AD CHAMPS!

And of course all must now bow before the one and true god:

that thornmail build lol.
I wonder how multiple
would work?
Also Veigar should get 3 void staffs so its all true damage lolol
Fear the black bananas.
I don't think I've ever bought an offensive item playing as support. Well except this one time I built ADC Thresh because my friends and I were screwing around. That was fun.
I get Zhonyas on any support with important AP ratios. I once baited 3 ults at once that got completely wasted.
Totally on purpose of course, not because I wasn't paying attention or anything. AHEM
Well on Morg or Annie I do that as well but I think of it as more of a defensive or arguably a hybrid off/def item (Might just be my opinion on that). I think something like Deathcap, or Voidstaff as a purely offensive item.
Annie support... http://thebestoflol.com/upload/20140705105745uid51.jpg
Deathcap actually scales better with utility focused champions
Yes but I like the active on Zhonyas more in most cases, especially if you aren't getting much AP where Rab isn't as effective as on raw mages. Plus it gets me some armor on some generally very squishy champs.
As a support, I take zhonya's if getting focused. Deathcap if I am being ignored.
IKR! Ever seen the team shield that full AP
grants?
There's several supports who standardly itemize damage in their builds, like Vel'Koz.

enjoy your freelo
support 11/2/20
2/5/7 "/all Fucking noob Zyra. Does not have one finished support item. I can't carry these noobs!
When i first brought Thresh, my thought process go "I have this cool ass aa animation, an AD damage dealing passive (E) and free tank, so I just have to build attack and still be tanky" Income Statick Shiv IE. The enemy Sona never knew what hit her.
a diamond one once told me to build tri force, iceborn guantlet and zekes herald on leona....it worked

How does that work with the double sheen?
Primary target -> Triforce proc AoE -> Iceborn proc.

Best support ever...(you can swap in a wits end as well instead of Reaver or Bork for mr shred if you have a lot of magic damage on your team)

Whenever i play thresh, and my carry falls behind, i always grab
. It combos with flay passive stupidly well. you become a second carry with 250 magic damage on your AAs. :)
Well, technically you wouldn't have 250 magic damage on all your AA's until you hit 250 souls. If you count the Wit's End passive, then you'd need 208 souls to have 250 magic damage per AA. If you're letting the Flay passive build up before you AA, then Wit's End's MR reduction isn't really helping.
It's a good item on Thresh, but it won't be applied to 250 magic damage AAs unless you hit late game.
i lvl E a lot so the scaling with souls ramps up. I only do this if carry falls behind though and W is already maxed
One time, shortly after Leona's release, I played her. I loved the animation of her sword slash. And then I bought a Trinity Force, because that's the kind of scrub I was at the time, and it became even more fun.
You aren't a scrub.
You're a revolutionary.

Supports of the world unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains!
And then Blizzard nerfed AP Lennona, gg.
