Mathematically speaking... warding hurts your team

woodvsmurph··3 votes·330 views

Take a look at the top 3 teams in NA LCS: imt, clg, tsm

in week 6, the top 3 wpm (wards per minute) supports played for: dig, c9, imt

for the split they are: nv, c9, imt

Thus warding more than your opponent support means you only have a 33% chance of being top of the class since imt is the only team to make top of the class AND top of class for wards per minute. STOP WARDING PEOPLE.

Gotta love the power of numerical manipulation to support faulty claims. But seriously... please do ward.[slayer-jinx-wink]

I know this is under memes and games but i want to explain why lower teams have more "warding", lower teams tend to be behind in games so its hard for them to gain vision control , as they are placing down wards the team ahead (Top tier teams), will be clearing them out so the lower team will have to replace and replace , while the higher teams will be able to protect there wards not having to replace them as much.

while I agree with your logic on losing teams, winning teams should be pushing vision forward looking for picks or rotational advantages by getting vision on the enemy. Wards are important no matter what side of the gold graph you're on.

Winning teams can defend their wards more easily and don't have to place as many because they don't get cleared out as often.

If anything for a bronzebaddie, it is much easier to ward when ahead. When behind you really can't step far out to ward, so you end up warding close bushes in your own jungle which aren't helpful.

Yes, but you then extend your vision from that point into the next set of jungle camps... or wait till you see 2 enemies base or farm on other side of map - then 5 man invade your own jungle to ward. Also, you can do this when you know the enemy is probably doing baron or dragon - just don't go on the side that the objective is on; if they are doing baron, ward your jg by drag and vice versa. Should be fairly safe to do that if you go in a group and let the tank or bruiser lead.

That comment was uncalled for, first, you assume my rank because of my name which is actually a meme. Secondly it's just generally toxic.

Sorry if you misread my post.

I was calling myself a bronzebaddie. I never even looked at your name or meant to insult you. I frequently refer to myself as bronze, and I don't think that is wrong because ~50% of the players are bronze. It is fine and it shouldn't be used as an insult.

But again, it is tough for me to ward when I am way behind.

calling someone bronze is basically calling someone average. high bronze and low silver is where the average league player ends up. also he called himself bronze so there is that.

I put it under memes and games because I know warding matters - just check my ranked chat history and see how many times I have to constantly harass everyone to ward the map - and how many games I ward more than even my support.
