He is the very model of a modern major general. :)

JOIN THE GLORIOUS EVOLUTION
HE'S BUILT TO BE INTIMATE
I'm doing this right, right? Right, guys?
According to some sections of the internet, yes.
And then you proceed to rekt them.
That's like a fed yi killing everything
Or a 0/10 Yi killing everyone
You liek Grevious too?
Like is an understatement. He's my favorite Star wars character^^
I tend to root for the bad guys, just how I secretly hoped Sauron would win when I watched LoTR for the first time when I was six.
I have to say Grievous is my favorite on the simple basis that not only is he badass, prior to the retcon of lore he had one of the most interesting character lores I can recall very well, especially because it showed the Jedi are not always working with good people.
Ah yeah, loved that particular backstory. His efforts to drive the invading Huk's from his homeworld only for the Jedi to intervene and utterly destroy his people both economically and in terms of morale.
The death of his lover and how he became stricken with grief and became the grievous we all know.
Manipulated to the end.
Unlike the entire galaxy, he was honest in his words and intentions; truly a noble soul in spite of a twisted mind. Few villains can claim to be so heroic whilst being so fiendishly evil.
Lawful Evil is probably the BEST kind of villain. If I was a villain I would be, in D&D terms, Lawful Evil.
An alignment most worthy of respect.
Chaotic good for life! I'll help that village if it means I can scorched earth everything between them and the problem.
Normally I'm Chaotic Good. But as I said: I'd be Lawful Evil if I was a villain. Cause showing the "good guys" that you are better then them by following your own strict set of rules shows just how hopeless they are. Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum for D&D alignment!
I'm usually neutral good or lawful neutral when I play.
Except when I'm hammy. Then I'm lawful good.
Sometimes its just good to mix it up and play an alignment you normally don't play. That can make it really fun.
Eh, I can't pull off being evil. I've tried, it doesn't fully work. Neutral is about as far as I can go.
Course my neutral is willing to let an ogre smash a town up because it's not my problem. Hell I was even planning on watching.
Mine too! I look at Jedi/Sith like 'gifted' people who can cruise through trials while Grievous is the epitome of determination and 'No pain, no gain'. Same reason I love Rock Lee and Rumble.
Enough determination to make even Flowey afraid! Or at least that is my thoughts! XD
Krillin is another character like this. He knows he'll never be on the same level as Goku et al. but does he give up? Heck no!
I think my most favorite Rock Lee moment was when he first took off his weights early in the series. God that was a cool moment he just rocked the place up.
Yeah hands down my favourite moment! They drop and you think 'okay some training weights' and then they hit the floor...
I don't get the Grevious Fandom that exists. I think he has some cool story elements. Kaleesh Warlord etc. In all his canon appearances though he sucks absolutely, he never does anything impressive and honestly his four arms are such a gimmick and worse than his debut in Clone Wars (not to be confused with The Clone Wars).
Well his design is one of the most interesting, and he killed a stack of Jedi without being able to use the force himself.
Apparently killed a stack of Jedi. For all we know he killed a bunch of Padawans or even Younglings for his blades. I can think of a single instance of him killing a Jedi, in the new canon that is which I know is not really important to his fandom existing.
Though again with his canonical appearances I'm not sure how I'm supposed to believe he can kill Jedi. A disconnect they really need to fix really.
Technically the clone wars 2D animation is canon.
No it isn't. It was wiped out after the Disney acquisition. Assuming you are referring to Cooje Wars where Grevious was cool admittedly but not that interesting of a character.
Except that it builds up to the 3rd movie with the kidnapping of palpatene (I can't spell).
I can see the expanded universe after the 6th movie being retconed, but not the 2D animation.
Go watch the Clone Wars animated series. Both of them. He racks up the body count.
Only 1 of them is canon and he doesn't take up that much of a body count in The Clone Wars. He kills a single Jedi throughout the entire thing. He also never has a victory.
I guess victories aren't important to me, particularly when they are scripted :P
Some people go their whole lives not reaching their dreams, achieving success, being the star or the hero but despite that they are really amazing/interesting. To bring it back to League, my favourite team mates aren't the ones that carry games, they are the ones that make the experience really fun win or lose. In a world of stoic jedi lecturers and black clad sith grimdarks Grievous stands out to me.
Well his design is one of the most interesting, and he killed a stack of Jedi without being able to use the force himself.
not to mention
-he crawls on all fours
He's mastered Dooku's style of Makashi fighting while implementing his own little additions to the mix. Makashi style with four sabers.
The only reason Obi-Wan beat him is because he is the greatest recorded master of the Soresu style in history, which is the most defensive style of fighting. Mace Windu made it clear that Obi-Wan is perhaps the only Jedi that could go head-to-head with Grievous and come out the victor.
How the hell did Dooku create a four saber fighting style technique?
He's saying Grievous added the four saber aspect to Dooku's style.
Not to mention that he's the first to ever do so. While Exar Kun was the first to ever create the double bladed lightsaber during his descension into the dark side, and Darth Traya was the first to ever wield up to 3 lightsabers in battle, Grievous used his extent machinery and tactics rather than the force to wield these deadly weapons.
Dooku's style of Makashi utilizes precision and efficiency, and utilized footwork and balance into a deadly, graceful style of fighting. The reason most Jedi could not handle Grievous in lightsaber combat was because not only was he proficient in a style that trumped the traditional Shii-Cho's hack-and-slash sweeping style. Makashi was made explicitly to be a full offensive style with little to no defense, and to be strong against single opponents wielding lightsabers and the force. Adding the multiple lightsabers and his brute strength, Grievous could easily disarm and crush your skull effortlessly even if you were a Jedi Master.
And this my friends is why I have two birds I want Lucas to see for what he did to Grievous in the movie.
To be fair, Grievous was outmatched by Obi-Wan. But that's about all you see besides the point where he kills Shaak Ti.
Not really. I would have loved to have seen Obi beat Grievous in a great fight where he shows his skills but in the movie they dumbed down Grievous harshly for the fight and made most of it about Grievous running away from him.
I do agree. They could have removed a lot of the romance and added to the fight against Grievous more. Nobody gives two craps about Padme and Anakin's love life. That's why I was thrilled to see very little romance in the new movie.
What? Grievous is awesome and has done a lot of things in his canon appearances. Only time he was lame was when Obi-wan killed the droid that looked like Grievous in Episode III.
I see what you did there... ^^
