I've seen a Vel'koz do item 3285 item 3020 before, the guy was booking it. Was annoying trying to land skillshots on him. I could see a support Vel going something like item 3092 item 2045 and still doing plenty of damage.

I understand this is Memes & Games, but on a serious note I think it's about time APs got access to a mini Void Staff, like ADs do. You know, especially considering itemization for AD/MR is vastly superior to AP/AR.

Ranged champs don't have scaling MR, which is why there is less Pen available for it. Also, void staff is always a good pick for a mage because it strips of 30% of total MR instantly, rather than last whispers 45% of bonus and Black Cleavers 30% over 6 strikes of physical damage.

There is also only 2 MR tank items, only 1 of which is actually good at any time, where as banshees requires a viable scenario.

AD champions scale with their autoattacks as well as most (if not all of their abilities), resulting in similar burst potential and almost always superior sustained damage output. So without the scaling armor all champions inherently have, they'd be paper to scissors without the scaling armor. Hell at times it still feels like they still are. Void Staff is not always a good pick by comparison because Morellonomicon, Lich Bane, Rabadon's Deathcap, Liandry's Torment and Luden's Echo exist. If ADs get the choice to build the better items up front and farm a measly 1,300g to counter defensive items when they pop up, then why not APs?

There are only two pure tank MR items because between them and other MR options with offensive stats it's already pretty overkill. Everyone knows most of the damage that needs to be blocked is coming from AD because much of it is inevitable, whereas AP damage can often be played around with some semblance of tankiness and CC.

Champions don't get as much natural MR. MR is not as valuable as armor either as all towers and neutral objectives and minions do physical damage. Plus everyone has basic attacks. Magic pen from runes and masteries is also higher. Magic pen is fine. It is armor pen that needs to be lowered not vice versa. Also unlike LW, Void staff applies to base MR.

Though surprisingly tear sustains better than Morello. At a glance the mana is all right, but the reduced mana costs actually increases the value of your base mana regen. You don't even have to buy archangel staff until you have nothing better to purchase, which is just a small bump in AP.

I discovered the above build by accident when I got stuck Orianna top and knew Morello wouldn't give enough mana. Come team fights their Caitlyn never saw it coming.
