Agreed. This is obviously Gilliam. Such high growths, mine's at like... level 15 general with max str and ~2 points away from max def.

Last map I literally just walked him through the entire map. He took damage once. Other than that was either 0% hit chance or 0 damage.

Well, they did say they're "average" soldiers with nothing special about them

That and in some of the earlier games their shields are pathetic and their armor's basically cloth armor =/

Because they're all the same so its easy to make them simple and weak and make the main fighter stand out more.

I'm thinking Soldiers might be pathetic to not make it too overbearing on the player in the early game.

Since Soldiers wield Lances and your hero character wields Swords (with a few exceptions like FE8's Ephraim, who wields lances), having Lance-wielders fight your hero might be too difficult early on if the Soldiers were strong, especially considering most of the games either don't give you a good axe-wielder early on or don't give a whole lot of axe-wielders at all, who would deal with the soldiers pretty well.

Of course, that's going to mean that the soldiers are going to be very weak throughout the entire game, which is significant later on, and that isn't really okay.

I've been playing Nautilus in the jungle quite a bit- it feels like the picture; except replace the soldier with a turret.
