I hate when I'm support and I sit there wondering why were getting stomped so hard..

Till I press tab and see my adc rushed boots, and is just now getting zeal while the enemy adc already has a full IE from their 70+ farm and 3 kills off our adc.

I remember boots being a common starting item back in s2. Almost never see anyone start with them now for some reason.

The main reason boots are not a common start item is because at the start of S3 they reduced the MS of boots by 25 and gave every champion an additional 25 base movespeed. Also, I think they increased the prices of boots, or changed the amount of starting gold so at the time you could start boots and 2 pots, instead of 3 pots in S2 (if I remember that part correctly). Basically it was determined that 325 gold for 25 MS and 2 pots (plus 25g leftover) was a poor use of starting funds, compared to formerly being able to get 50 MS, 3 pots, and if you waited 10 seconds after minions spawned, could get a 4th pot and still get to lane before minions died.
