From what Riot said, Assassins are made to infiltrate the enemy front line to get to the squishy champs in the back, but can easily put themselves into danger in the process. Skirmishers were described to "shred through any nearby enemy that approaches", lacking in high end burst damage that assassins have, but are armed with situationally powerful defensive tools to survive in the fray, along with extreme sustained damage to cut down even the most durable targets.
so pretty much, Assassins: get in, get out or die. Skirmishers: sustained damage with defensive tools to stay alive with.

To be fair, the subclass updates are really recent (maybe a few weeks ago) and Riot kind of did a poor job making them more readily available to the public.

Captain Aishi1 votesthe other day I bought rylais on shyvana (with her 10% ap ratio on W now it was actually pretty decent) so that her dragon form W scorched ground would slow people in it, got me to thinking I should try the item on darius so his bleed slows people like brand's passive :P (hey if zhonyas is core on my darius build, i can try to replace it with rylais for one game to see how it goes)

frozen mallet is great for sticking on one person, but leaving a trail of fire that slows everyone in it by 20% as they try to run is something different that can have it's uses

If you run away from Mordekaiser and he catches up, he's still going to be doing full damage to you. If you run away from Illaoi after she ults, and she catches up, you're still away from her tentacles.

She's not semi squishy like Heimer, so she doesn't offer the dim hope of killing her before her zone kills you (which is a trap when fighting donger anyway). Nor does she have and hard CC to keep an opponent in her zone (unlike Donger). And she needs to actively utilize her zone power (tentacles) while Donger doesn't (fuck those turrets).
I'm not sure if that makes her healthier than Donger, weaker, or both.
I keep using Heimerdinger because I don't know of many zone control champions.
Ravenous Howls13 votesJuggernauts are not Tanks. They typically build tanky but don't have the same hard CC, engage potential or defensive steroids of a tank.
Nautilus has a shield slow, grab, stun on passive and an ult knock up that can not be blocked. He can hard engage a lock down an entire team potentially but he can't 1v1 very well let alone 1v2 or higher.
Darius has short rang pull and a mediocre slow. He will build tanky and potentially do terrific damage but he has to rely on his team to get him in close or else he will be peeled and obliterated. He has no hard engage outside of flash.
People always make this QQ forum about Nasus as well. QQ nerf Nasus! A tank shouldn't be so tanky and do this much damage. Again not a bloody tank!
Nasus has one, albeit strong, targeted CC ability. So he can shut down one enemy's movement and AS. He does terrific damage with his infinite damage scaling Siphoning Strike while building tanky However, again, he has no hard engage and is extremely dependent on his team to get him inside to do his damage.
Juggernauts are slow plodding dealers of death and if you are stupid enough to engage in melee range with them and they are ahead and well farmed then you are going to die.
Tanks are iron giants who can close the distance and hold down the enemy so their team can clean up but deal arbitrary damage.

No worries m8! I just wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic or if you were being sincere. Morde is still weird for me though. I feel like most of the time he's trash but then I see someone experienced play him and they are damn near invincible with him. It's really polarizing how he's played from one extreme to the other.

Root and Stun are almost the same thing except you can attack from a root. I honestly thought it was the latter. But the only thing I can think of outside of Zhony's is Morgana's spell shield and Bard's Ult. My point was in all honesty was just that he has truck loads of CC.

Juggernaut - easy to kite, lots of health, deal high damage
Tank - tons of cc, hard to kill, scale off of defensive stats or have defense built into kit
Fighter - can engage themselves, deal good damage, not as tanky as above categories unless building for it
Assassin - high damage, low defense, highly mobile
Other - oddballs not fitting any of the above or multiple of the above
