Skill shots are rather easy to dodge. One very good way to dodge skill shots is to stop trying to make the shortest line to safety.
In other words: People expect you to go for the 45 degree angle to your turret because it's not a straight line in front of them (heading away in a straight line is really easy to hit with a skill shot) but it's also the shortest path that is slightly obscured from straight that you can make. However! If you make 90 degree left or right adjustments you can dodge every non-auto tracking skill shot.
I was once held up in top lane with an Ahri, Xin, and Nidalee.
Ahri was in front, Xin was behind cutting off my escape, and Nidalee was throwing pot shots from the krug bush. I was able to dodge 6 skill shots, give or take, by just moving in ninety degree angels and thinking about where i'd throw a skill shot if I were them. Although happy endings don't exist, the Xin dove me and Ahri/Nidalee had at it.
