Marksman and AD carry are not the same thing. A Marksman is someone who puts out strong, consistent, single target damage with autoattacks. This is almost the same thing as AD Carries, but Azir counts; so do Kayle and Teemo, and you wouldn't want to put them in the AD carry role. (Although Kayle is viable in every role, and can viably be built straight AD, although she still spits out a ton of mixed damage.)

I know they said it was going to be an adc this year but it hurts to have both the championship skin and the victorious skin be for an adc/marksman. (probably not for an adc main but you get my point :P)

Morgana mid is 100% viable. Just because she's often played support doesn't mean that she can't be played mid.

I realize Morg can be played mid and that is a match up I miss, but that is not meta for her.

Why waste all that farm on a champion whos most powerful spells are powerful without gold ?

Morgana's spells scale vey well with AP. Just because they're strong without AP doesn't mean that adding a lot of AP makes them bad. Morgana is played 80% support and 20% mid; that's roughly the same ratio as Zyra and not too far from Annie (70-30). Morgana is viable both mid and support. Why is this so hard to understand?

Nothing is hard to understand about your statement, she still in not a mid lane champion even though she can be played in that lane. It is just wasteful, why is that so hard to understand ? She is GOOD without gold, and not that much better with gold. Last I checked Morganna mid was not tearing up the LCS.

Not to mention the fact that Morganna was given the skin due to her contributions as a support, she terrorized the meta for a good while at all levels of play.

I think the main issue here is a mismatch of definitions. I think that Morgana is a perfectly viable midlane champion because she can be played there safely and effectively. You think that she isn't because she doesn't need gold to be effective, and can also therefore be played support. Her ratios are excellent, so her damage is MUCH better with gold; she's a viable source of lategame damage, as well as the CC that she would offer in her support role.

A good litmus test is 'would I get reported or harassed for playing this?'. Zilean? Probably. AP Caitlyn? Definitely. Morgana? No. Regardless of why she originally got the skin, if I wanted to assemble a team of 5 Victorious skins, Morgana would be an effective and meta midlaner.

I think Morganna is a viable mid laner, I never said she was not. She is just a much stronger choice bot lane, zilean is fine in the mid lane also. This thread was about why did a strong meta mid laner such as viktor not receive the victorious skin ? Why have no meta mid lane champions ever received the victorious skin ?

Morganna was the second champion I purchased and the first champion I ever really played. I played her top, mid and support for quite a long time. I always liked how easy it was to farm with her, so do not think I hate or do not understand her. I just do not feel like she represents the mid lane.

My guess would be that they didn't come up with the concept until a few seasons in. Like maybe they were just handing them out to the most influential champs, and then they realized this year that they could make it into a whole team; since they already had Janna, they put Morgana in this hypothetical team's midlane role.
