[Client] Crashing/Freezing during champion select

For a while now and especially after this patch, my client will freeze during champion select and I will be forced to dodge because I am unable to pick/ban/lock a champion. I have talked with my premade queue via the in-client chat and I have tested my internet connection while this happens to confirm that I am not losing connection. This has happened 3 times this week and I am getting increasingly long queue penalties.

I have tried contacting Riot Support via a support ticket but their solution was to post a description of what was happening in the Report a Bug section. :l

I am not trying to dodge queues and I am very worried about getting a ban if this keeps happening.

EDIT: It happened again, I tested my internet and I have full connectivity but the client froze then I was unable to pick and I was removed from queue with penalty. In addition before being kicked from queue I get notified that everyone else has left the lobby as well.

Yeah this bullshit triggers me every single time. Before this shit happens to my promotion i was like "nah its just 3 IP and 5 min waiting time thats fine" And its getting worse and worse. I dodged 3 games in 5 just because my league crashed and it takes 23 LP from me. However the most annoying part is that i have to wait 30 min every single time now. If Riot cant fix this bug i think im gonna quit this game from now on till they fix it.

This happend to me so many times i have lost about 73 LP because of this bulshit it would freeze and i would get suspended for it

Honestly, if this keeps on happening, then Riot should stop giving out Leaver Penalties the Player leaves within champ select.

This happens to me too every time i get in champ select: I have some pictures too :P http://imgur.com/a/fhlff ^Check those out it gets pretty bad once you scroll down.^ I have initiated a full repair, reinstalled, restarted, reported it like 3 times and still no help? It gets really annoying as my computer crashes and takes like 5 min to come back up. My computer isn't slow either it i play at 105 fps in game with 33 ms. This isn't only in champ select its in match history, view profile, and even starting queue. It just freezes and the client turns black. I play on a mac btw idk if thats the issue though. Please fix this soon it is getting extremely annoying waiting for this queue dodging timer every time i want to play league. Not being able to call roles in blind pick as well. -WaterToaster

Same thing happens to me.. I'm getting pretty pissed about this because it happend to me in ranked today for 2 times. Any support?

this game is so frustrating...always has client issues, how can a game that gets so many donations, so many users, so much traffic, have these many client issues??

keep pumping those skins and champions out Riot.....we have no issues with this, but for god sake, please fix the damn client so it runs smoothly and properly so we don't have to go through the frustration of losing a game, losing a ranked game, losing a placement match, getting banned, getting time penalties and so on just because YOUR AUTO PILOT METHODS screw us for not even being able to START A MATCH LOL.

I have had this occur to me so many times now. I have their hextech tool that's supposed to diagnose the program, but so far it hasnt worked...even a completely fresh install and repatch. This was their response.

This has just happened to me twice in a row has anyone had a response to as of why it is happening - i have a 20 minute wait now because of this happening.

This is happening to me too. 3 times yesterday, lost about 30 LP from it total. (All happened in ranked) Thought it was my internet, but nothing else drops... Glad its happening to someone else too.

This is happening to me as well. I had it happen once while in my ranking matches and once afterwards. They need to either get this fixed or refund our LP because this is ridiculous especially since it is happening in the selection lobby where it for the most part does affect other users. I have also left a support ticket with Riot but haven't heard anything from them. If they don't fix this I will leave league. No point playing a game that penalizes your for their own incompetence.

yeah this happens to me but it's kind of different. My client is fine until i get into champ select then the screen turns black. I dodged two games from this and recently lost me one of my promo games. this client is trash

i have the same problem every 2 game now ,is like i lose so much time for nothing on this client . Fix this pls riot or make us a choise about the client that was better anyway. I start to hate this game and the ways riot "update" the game , just too bad . It dont make any sinn to rework some champ and chance the map when we cannt play .

Happens to me a few times, if I am playing an important match like promos or whatever I ask my friends to leave. However this time I was solo queue so I couldn't ask anyone to leave, I lost my promos to gold because of this shit.

This is also happening to me... this weekend i'm going to try and reinstall the game. I feel like it's some sort of library that's broken. and maybe the alpha client won't crash anymore.

This has been going on for years apparently (since I have read posts with the same exact problem from several diff time frames). [Why riot seems to know nothing about it is beyond me...I got a canned response that said it might be because of their chat maintenance...make sure I check the home page). NO, this has been going on and off for weeks for me...and many others as well.)] ANYWAY, I found some posts with any number of things to try...some ppl said certain things worked, other's didn't. Right now I might be on a good steak. I followed something that said to repair the client, reset modem, change riot pw, reset netsh in cmd, and reboot. So far, I'm good.

Bump. First time it's happened to me. There is no reason for it to have happened, though, as my computer is fast enough to relaunch and log back into the game in less than 30 seconds. Why not just let me back into the champ select instead of disbanding it and insta-suspending me before giving me the chance?

OK!I havent seen the problem the last couple of days!!! (since patch 7.23)!!! I turned OFF the sound in the client too... dunno if it helps, but might have for me.!!

Maybe I found a solution. I had the same problem for 3 days. After my internet provider installed a new router it worked again. The problem were serveral port-rules in the setting of my router. Just delete unneccessary port-rules and it could work! In my case i set up port-exceptions for Apple iCloud.

Riot this is STILL going on to this patch note. My friend has been unable to lock in their champ every other lobby due to the client crashing. At the very least we would like a response or more preferably a solution to this*[slayer-jinx-unamused]*

I've reported this bug twice, it's c o n s t a n t l y happening, it made me lose my promos, and causes me to deal with queue timers for things that I didn't cause. Rito pls, at least address the situation and what the problems are oof.

My game crashes after every one game. Like when i play a game and then start queuing for the next one then it crashes during champ select for the second game and it gives me penalties every time. but if i restart my client after every game i play it wont crash...but wtf!? why would i have to restart my client every time i play a game to avoid this stupid bug which crashes my client during champ select.. I lost my promos...more than 45 LP lost because of this shit, please fix it!

It has happened to me for about 2 to 3 years now and now i was just one match off promos got my second one in 3 games usually it happens every 5 games though. I have complained in the past and sometimes bug splat comes up sometimes it doesn't. It says failed to create dump file and it used to reboot and i might be able to salvage if i was last user to pick but now it takes even longer to reboot so just got a half hour penalty now getting really disappointed with things. =( please help riot

I get this bugg every other game. I gotta restart my client just so that I dont run into this problem....pls riot this issue has been out for so long. You need to fix this. I do not want to get banned or penalised for a bugg thats been unattended for the past 2 years.

My client crashes and a windows warning sign comes up and says "Could not create dump file" or something like that. And then my client just has a loading sign. Always in champ select. I'm so tilted now actually, its happened so much that I have a 30 min queue dodge timer and I lost 10 LP (In one dodge). I know this sounds unreasonable and I don't know how to prove it, but why would I make something retarded like that up :/.

I don't mind waiting, it's just that the tilting part is that it isn't even my fault. It feels like rito is punishing me for their mistakes.

Yo, just had this issue in champ select as well. I've experienced it intermittently since I started playing in season 3. League has come so far since then, but Riot needs to code the client to recognize the difference between a leaver and someone who is having client issues. Receiving penalties for client bugs is harsh!
