Preamble

Your weekly dose of server problem-os, NA League news, and other!

The League Client is moving to a new storage design (making your local install better) soon, LCS Finals went to a full 5 games (games 3 and 5 were awesome), and everyone loves Riven again!

**Server Stuff: **

Patch Failure rate exceeding 5% (4/13, ~2 hours) Automated alerting notifies the NOC patching failures reach excessive levels. Investigation leads to a download node not sending data correctly. Before 3rd party vendor can investigate said node, the node self-recovers and failure rates lower to normal levels.

**Game Stuff: **

Wrong F2P Schedule (4/16, ~2 hours) F2P rotation for the week rolls out, with Evelynn free instead of Vel’Koz. The Agony’s Embrace will have to wait a little bit before being able to hug everyone, and instead we’re all being watched by the Eye of the Void. He doesn’t blink much.

Player Support Issues:

There’s a pretty stable amount of similar problems across the board in Player Support. We are also launching the new League Patcher, which should improve a bunch of things, as well as prevent you from needing to allow League through your firewall with each patch! Read about it here and if you want to adjust your firewall one or two final times for the client, look here

anyone know a solution to my game randomly pauseing for 1-3 seconds and my ping jumping from 50 to 350 then going right back down? I thought it was my internet at first until i was at a friends house with my pc and it was still happening

Are you playing on WiFi or wired? It sounds like either something is connecting/disconnecting, or you've got a process/program that's lagging you out occasionally.

Happening for me too. It hangs every minute or so and is unrelated to packet loss I think. While it's frozen for the 1-3 seconds I can't control my champ so often they keep moving and int :(

Ye this keeps happening to me and my friend. We both live in different areas and we have stable ping playing other games. It seems to be only League that gives us these jumps.

Laptop/Desktop, Wifi or Wired? New modem/router, older one, one provided by your ISP, etc?

I play desktop wifi. I have a newer router from my ISP. I have no idea what could be the problem and google isn't really helping me out so I'm at a big rip.

For shits and giggles, are you able to connect to the router with a LAN cable for a test day or two? I'd like to rule out your wifi and that is the easiest way to do it.

I can try it today after I get home from school (4pm est). Also it might help to know that if i flush my dns server it generally helps a little bit.

I work for an iSP and while our wifi modems are not bad, its still wifi. Wifi was designed for convenience and not gaming. If your desktop is 5g capable you can try that otherwise you wither want a hardline Ethernet connection or a powerline Ethernet adapter.

Ive done ping test downloading other stuff and it been fine but while playing league my ping will get random spikes. Literally only when i open league

i been getting you been kicked out of the group, in a solo group in ranked all day .

because of that i cant comment after. also getting trying to reconnect alot... the servers were better when were closer to east.

Main issue I keep seeing is your updater rewriting my hosts file 13cdn.riotgames line so the client will randomly revert versions and then get stuck at 0% per minute until I delete that line in my hosts file... this happens several times a month as well. summoner 3

Your client reverts versions with each patch? Or just in general whenever you try to log in?

To ask the obvious question, you've fully removed all League files, re-installed, and it's still doing it?

Yes I had uninstalled reinstalled it twice before and it still did it. Uninstalling didn't remove the content network line from the hosts file. So I had to remove it manually and then I reinstalled it and it worked just fine. I've been checking the hosts file periodically and the 13 cdn line hasn't returned issue seems solved this week haven't had a problem but somewhere in the updater that line gets placed in our hosts file and makes it so people can't login or update the game (disables login fields as well).

This rly is a problem. especially when you then get a leave buster if u just CANT connect. my wifi is good and i have a game pc but still get kicked out often enough t get annoyed.... im gonna... im gonna... im gonna kill them aaaaalllll Teemo , btw just a little teemo cosplay trough chazt. not rly hating anyone

Morgageddon kinda touches on this in an earlier post, but see if you can try connecting via LAN cable to see if you are still having this issue. More often than not, it can be an issue with the WiFi itself, but his is a simple way to test it to be sure.

I have the loading problem too, but when I press "reconnect" it just takes waaay too long to get in game, it will load to 6%, then 8% and it freezes. I had a game of ranked I lost because of that and my team did not remake.
