_Our team wanted to be a bit more transparent around server issues, as well as other information that the NA playerbase may want to hear about. This is 100% a work in progress, so feedback around what’s here, or what you might want to see, is highly appreciated! _

Your weekly dose of server problem-os, NA League news, and other! (Now moved to Thursday)

Absolutely nothing happened this week. Nope. Nothing at all. Not Nexus Blitz returning, All-Stars, and Snowdown either.

Follow-Ups: Bunch of possible Neeko issues brought to QA for validation and testing Thanks to all posters bringing up possible issues

Server Stuff:

Gifting RP down (12/5/18, ~ 6 days). A plugin change caused gifting to fail. Updates to services were needed and the fix went out with a bunch of other under-the-hood improvements.
Snowdown Pass issues (12/6/18, ~ 1 hour). The Snowdown Pass could be bought without actually being added to your inventory, costing RP and enabling you to buy the Pass again and again without getting anything. The mischievous poros causing the problem were rounded up and weaned off eggnog.
Mission completions slightly delayed (12/11/18 ~ 40 minutes). A change to logging mission competitions server side caused the service to slow down, delaying rewards. Reploying fixed the issue and all delayed missions were successfully found, hidden within the bends and folds of LAN cables connecting servers together.

**Game Stuff: **

Target MMR incorrectly set for new season (12/5/18, ~ 1 day). Server side MMR values had been set incorrect, leading to players getting huge LP gains/losses depending on tier location. Updating the target MMRs brought LP gains/losses back to within normal ranges. Consolation prize: MMR wasn’t affected, even though your LP may have been. * For additional Ranked info, look here
Sion’s Unstoppable Onslaught actually unstoppable (12/9/18 ~ 30 hours). Sion could ult out of Nexus Blitz Prize Fight, and if he made it to the fountain, he was unstoppable AND invincible. Oops. Had to make Sion just a little stoppable to fix this case.

Player Support Trend:

If your League Client isn’t launching properly after the last patch, you may want to consider cleaning out some of those old saved replays/highlights you’ve got inside of your Documents folder (C:/Users/(username)/Documents/League of Legends). We know years and years of dunks and fail flashes are awesome to keep, but maybe it’s time to turn some of them into highlight reels and nuke the rest.

Same thing I just mentioned, even though this thread is more specific to NA, do you mind elaborating on your experience on EUW?

I can elaborate my experience on EUW. The main thing that happened was that I lost a game (surrender at 15-20 m ) and I wanted to play a game with a friend after that but the Server thought I was still in game so everytime I logged in he tried to launch the Game the Launcher just said "Game still in Progress" and my Friends saw that I was about 6h in to the Game. discord showed that 6h ingame as well. I did go to bed after that but I was longer than 6 hours in that game I think it was about 10-12 what I heard from my Friends. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

It sounds a lot like you were stuck in a ghost game. We have a saved link here that can explain it quickly (https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/help-support/EmBqWKcz-ghost-game-anyone-know-a-fix) but the tl;dr is, game server said you were in game, client said you were out of it, until they both agree you're out, you're stuck in a non-existent game.

EUW was down three times with ranked being down even more often, people had issues loggin in, there were several game breaking bugs, heimerdinger for example was nearly unplayable as nearly his entire kit was bugged (though that doesnt have to do with the server i suppose).

Pretty much from friday to monday everything on EUW was dodgy, with champ select lasting for nearly 5 minutes before transitioning to the loading screen (if you were lucky). an eternal champ select that would eventually boot you back out to the starting screen. random disconnects, ping spikes, an unresponsive shop (that somehow still took your RP if you tried to buy the snowdown pass), a reset of keybinds, a reset of runes putting you back on the starting amount even if you have all rune pages unlocked, if you can think it, it probably happened on EUW during last weekend with some issues still not having been solved.

i would give you all an F grade because in this post it fucking tells us to deal with your fuck up. better yet when you report it to the support team they say there is nothing fucking wrong when there is a post right here all about it. want the ticket number. I'll say it wtf are you people doing ? to busy dealing with your staff that can't stop messing with the girls that work there or the lawsuits. i would love a re answers. i have played this game for 8 years and you have crossed the line here.

We know this is still an issue, and there are people working on it. I don't know when it'll be fixed (or we have concrete info to share about when) though. :(

Only 1% more players to be in Iron to match how many players are currently in Diamond.

So exciting to see how the rank distribution goes.

Edit: as for servers specifically I don't see or hear of much issues. I think people grading F are just your standard salty young playerbase.

This is a good questions and one that has been brought up before in a previous post. Our last update on this was 3 months ago. At the moment we don't have any other updates beyond this, but we are still looking into this.

Not that long time ago, my queue accept was literally ignored and dropped me out from Q noting me that I didn't accept it. This happened when I had to accept Q 3rd or 2nd time. Glad I didn't decline them before, potentially it could ban some players.

That's no good. Since this was happening some time ago, let me know if this is still an issue. It may be worth reaching out to Player Support as well since those good people can help trouble shoot your issue. I can help connect you there if you are still having this issue.

Any ideas or plans to work on the client itself? Still super slow and buggy sometimes, even on low spec mode.

Also, does anyone else experience frame loss when using the snow down map accents? I love it so much but I have to turn it off or I get like 25 FPS :(

[sg-lux-2] When has anything related to either the community or the league of legends player ever been one of pleasantry or enjoyment, i've only been seeing or reading such unsportsmanlike attitude, people using those damn scripted program that predicts the path of projectile, and people swearing up a storm with such degrading and racially abusive statement towards their team mates or the enemy team that outplayed that individual. So do tell me, how has league even improved, i started playing league near the end of season 3 and i rather be back in season 3 since it was more tolerable then what it is now it wasn't perfect but it was tolerable.(note: these occurrences are recent considering i've been reading and trying out the new updates that have been implemented, though i don't really like them they seem very unfair to certain groups of champions, and players taking advantage of it by playing unfairly using some form assist for their own gameplay)

I'm having some problems with the client I'll get into the client it will show all of the tabs but not the news. Then it will all disappear and I'll hear the login noise again this can happen three to four times in a row then I'll be able to do things. After that, it still has lag after the fact and trying to open tabs lag my computer and won't let me open capsules after a while it will fix itself but it is a lot of opening lag. It could be caused due to me trying to use a mac to run it but just thought to let you know/

OCE here, I get continued ping spikes ONLY in League. They're minor, but since I play high APS champs it can get irritating. For reference I usually have ~40 ping, which spikes to 120 at times for no reason.

The servers are great, there are times where they usually mess up but I haven't experienced a bad lag spike that was on the server's side. Good stuff, keep it up.

Hi I’m having this small issue where my game keeps opening in windowed mode and I always have to change it back to borderless, any fix? Also I’ve had this issue where every1 is at 100% in loading screen and I load in like a min late and it’s really frustrating

I had an issue yesterday in which it said that I dodged the queue right before it would have gone into the game. It didn't give me any sort of penalty, so I didn't feel the need to put in a support ticket, but it definitely kicked me, then blamed me for it, which was strange.

Otherwise, things have been about normal.
