@Riot Don't leave Anivia out in the cold

Amumu, Anivia, Mundo, Karthus, Maokai, Singed, and Swain are the only champions in the game that have a toggle-able ability that drains the caster's resource over time.

Yet Anivia is the only one whose ability gets toggled off if she gets CCd... and it's an ultimate.

So can we do something about this Riot?

Probably because her toggle, compared to the other champs, is a ranged AOE away from her, and Amumu, Mundo, Karthas, Singed, and Swain are all toggles that are a part of the champ itself and radiate from them. If they get rooted or stunned, it may punish the enemy for doing so. Whereas if doing the same to Anivia, disabling her ult may save the enemy teammate.

It sounds balanced in theory to me. Maokai may be the other case but his ult also provides damage reduction aside from any damage, which also punishes the enemy stunning him.

I would agree with that assessment if it weren't an ultimate and it didn't have another ability depending on it. The rest of the champions listed don't have another ability that's dependent on the AoE being active. So by CCing her you're getting rid of the AoE AND halving the damage her E does.

Keep in mind that Anivia and Maokai may be the only ranged ones, but they're also the only ones that can't reposition the AoE. You can walk out of Maokai and Anivia's ults, but Anivia is the only one you can both walk out of and CC her out of. Anivia's ult also has a much smaller radius than Maokai's.

So not only is it the only ability that has another ability depending on it, it's also the easiest to negate.
