VUs and Relaunchs: Possibility of Bringing Things Back?

Hey everyone I just wanted to throw this out there real quick.

I know that there are a ton of VUs and Relaunches that completely change the character into something that mains did not start off playing. They do not see their old Champion that they loved in their update. So my question is this: Is there a possibility of bringing those back?

Now, I'm not saying that we should take the work done on Karma/Trundle/Sejuani, or any other redone champion and throw it away. Not at all. But what if, as an option, a player could purchase the old skins on the old models to use in game? So if I really loved the old Lil Slugger Trundle, I could use that skin and model instead of the current one.

I've heard the argument that it doesn't work like that. You can't choose a champion and them have two separate models in the files for that champion. But isn't that what was done with Rumble's new Legendary skin? It's a completely different rig than the other skins.

At the core of choosing a champion and skin, you're basically choosing which files the game should load as you go into the game. Making an option to direct those files to another model and skin doesn't seem impossible to do. Not to mention, the skins are already complete. They're just sitting in the files somewhere never to be seen again.

I don't know if this thread will get any upvotes or if a Dev will comment on the possibility of this, but I just wanted to post it because in the example above, I'm basically talking about me. I loved Lil' Slugger Trundle, but the rework just killed it for me. I'd love to be able to play with my favorite skin again, but right now it just sits in a file at Riot Games never to be seen again.

Would anyone else be interested in this or is it just me?
