With the introduction of Sightstone, the green wards you have in your inventory are not really usefull after you buy it because you have nearly infinite wards. I wonder if it is possible to make pink wards build from green wards.
At the moment green wards = 75gold pink wards = 100 gold
What if pink wards were built from green wards + 25 gold ?

I've always wondered why they never have. It would stand to reason that Green Stealth Sight Wards could build into Pink True Vision Wards without breaking the game.
I agree. I mean, you can upgrade your trinket to a pink ward... so you should be able to build a pink ward from the green stealth ones!
It's a nice way to save some gold.

When I support I always find myself having at least one stealth ward still in my inventory while I have my sightstone. Upgrading that stealth ward to a vision ward would save a lot of gold. Great idea, I think it should be implemented.
I think that's a great Idea as well! It would make a lot of sense, but they'd also have to limit green wards to two or up pinks to 3.
One small problem: if you have full inventory, which obviously isn't at 800g back, but later on, you could have the situation that you have 2 greens and no room to split for pinks, assuming you can only upgrade 1 green at a time.
This would mean that you could only upgrade an entire stack of items. Thinking ahead would be involved and we all know how that works out for most players...
Other than that, I think it's a good idea. As a main support, I have the 'uselss green' dilemma all the time, since I have to back pre-6 a lot. (I like to go all in, get the carry a kill and escape with 2% hp)
honestly, they need to raise the amount of wards you can place. then this would be nonissue.

I usually rush sightstone first buy as support if I can, sometimes when I back though I have less than 800 gold. Usually I would go ruby crystal + green wards, but I'm always scared of buying too many cause I'll get sightstone next buy, this would be a great way to relieve that fear since if I have like, 900 gold on first back, I'd buy sightstone and a pink anyways.
It also might encourage other lanes to buy more wards, since there's less a chance it could go to waste.
What exactly is the benefit from this?
