Idea for Current Kassadin
Let his Q be a fixed 0.5 second silence. This would allow it to be clear that it can interrupt channels without being overbearing due to his lower base damages.

Or just keep it the way it is and make the shield last .5s longer. A 1.5s shield is crap for trading. 2 seconds seems way better for a quick trade against mages with burst. Also his W passive needs a scaling component. 20 base magic damage at all levels is pretty terrible considering they want to make kassadin a more melee assassin/bruiser. It would give him a better bruiser build path and allow him to stay in extended trades in melee range.
Making it a true silence would bring it back to the days of Kassadin melting peoples' faces off against. Given the fact that he can put out more damage than you have health in about that time, it would again prevent reacting to his onslaught. It cancels channeled spells, and that part is clear. If it really isn't, then that could be remedies with a tool-tip change.
I have been having fantastic success with Kass in 4.6 thanks to the changes to W.
His damage is now on par with the nerf he received in his q.
I max W first, you have to make sure you R close enough to W them. Thanks to E you can usually close the gap.
I do miss the silence, but the shield is pretty helpful and against those champs with channeled abilities, it is OP.
Riot made a good decision with that shield because it does have a similar effect but has more counterplay.
I kind of like it the way it is more, heres why:
Before, Kass could be poked down by champs like Lux and Nidalee etc in lane pre6 to the point where he either cant cs or has to b or feed.
This is because of the limited range of his kit pre6.
Now kass can q a nearby MINION for the shield, to absorb their poke. Then walk up to them when their poke is on CD and CS or trade damage.
Out of 5 or so ranked games Kassadin is my best KDA... and its not like ,y Bronze ass is pro or anything
