Runes, and Masteries bonuses.

Okay, so I've looked around, but haven't found this specific question. I may have overlooked it, and if I did, well, apologies for bringing up the topic again. My question/s is/are, in regards to the bonus caps, like Cooldown capped at 40% and Atk Speed 2.5, does this include the runes and masteries? Or are the caps only in relation to in-game items? I'm very curious cause this hasn't been specifically mentioned, at least not in a thread I've found. Reason being, of course, is if it does include runes and masteries, I could obviously allocate runes/points to different areas that could be more beneficial, or use my gold in-game on something else. Thanks in advance for the response.Shaco

This is a very good question, and I would like to know the answer myself.

Good question, but even with the runes you could have in tier 1 why are you worried? I dont think its even possible to reach caps with the runes and quints you have available. And when you get tier 2 or 3 its most likely in game items atleast thats what I would think personally I never worried about caps as far as having 40% attack speed lol.

I understand what you mean, but it is very possible to reach the caps. Especially the cooldown one. I don't know how you got the 40% attack speed though. Must have confused it with the cooldown. As for the runes that I have right now, I know it doesn't matter much, but I'm thinking ahead. For when I reach the higher levels, I will know exactly what to do with all my tier 3 runes, and exactly how to allocate my mastery points. I mean as far as cooldown goes, just for examples sake, if I have enough mastery points, and runes in to give me at least a 10%, or even 20% cooldown, that means in-game I can just buy one item with a 20% cooldown, and use my gold on something else. OR if I wanted to, I can just put my mastery points somewhere else, and just use 2 items at 20% cooldown each to give me the 40% cap. Either way, all factual information is good information that can be used to adjust your gameplay.

The in game caps (CDR < 40% and AS < 2.5) are absolute regardless of where you get the CDR or AS from. So yes, even if it's in runes or masteries, you can't pass those cap values.

Thank you very much for this info. Knowing this will definitely help with rune and point allocations. As well as item buys. Thanks again. :-)
