I absolutely love Ekko. His kit is great for pulling off those flashy team fight plays. And I don't think he's "broken". He is an assassin so he's very squishy. And CC spells his doom. He's super burst damage so he can out dual most champs, but here is some tips.

If you ever see Ekko running straight at you after coming out of a bush or around a corner u should move the opposite way you where going cause he's probably dropped his W in your path and hes going to stun you.

If you can see the 2 light blue rings around the base of your champ don't let him hit you again with a spell or auto attack. His passive is actually what does most of his damage. And he'll get a good move speed buff to either chase you down or run away for a good trade.

If your laning against Ekko don't back from lane unless he does. Ekko's E with item 3100 shreds turrets extremely fast.

Yes Ekko is strong, but like most assassins you have to know how to use him. And like any assassin once fed and carry easily. But if you can dodge his Q and don't fall for the baits for his stun you should be able to out sustain him. Ekko's Q uses quite a bit of mana, and he doesn't have very much starting mana.

Just a few champs that I've notice that work really well against him though are.

Chogath Is probably Ekko's hardest counter. Silence, with knock up, and tanky enough to sustain Ekko's damage, Not to mention a true damage ult that can be used before Ekko can get his Ult off.

Yasuo Is another great contender for Ekko. With his W to block Ekko's poke, make's him able to E in for the kill quickly with his high AD damage. Also his passive shield allows you to out trade.

Leblanc Can be frustrating for Ekko as well. She can out poke and out trade Ekko very easily. And she has her snare which is a death sentence for Ekko. She's almost Ekko's mirror in lane.

As for Runes and Masteries I like to use the hybrid armor/magic pen reds, flat armor yellows, flat AP blues, and flat AP Quins and I use a very similar 21/0/9 mastery page as the one posted.

Ekko has so much in his kit that it's impossible for him to have a hard counter. Hopefully someday Riot will figure this out.

I think Yasuo is another counter. Unless every Ekko I saw losing to a Yasuo sucks lmao.
