Why do we have to equip an icon to do any of these quests.
It's free to everyone and all the quests require you to have it. So why even need to equip.
I want to use my cool santa baron icon. This icon is boring.

Why do I have to farm minions as a support main? Why do I have to play SR as a TT person? Why do I have to equip an icon for something that has little to do with the Icon?
Answer: Riot.
I still have yet to find an actual want to even do these stupid "missions".
If i want a skin, ill buy it. I dont want to go out of my way and playstyle for X games just to get some stupid icon. These missions feel like a gimmick, which feels like everything this game is going towards with these design choices for all kinds of things.
Because it shows you accept the quest. If you don't accept it you don't get the rewards just like in any other video game. They don't have to do events that give free stuff. The least we could do is show our support for it.
I agree, it's especially jarring because I'd like to use my Heartsplosion icon that ONLY works in URF mode, but that would mean locking myself out of the event.
In the VS. event it made sense - you were picking one of two sides and representing it. Now? Just doesn't make any sense. They should have at least made a 1500IP icon that wasn't so bland (like the star one).
You will equip that shitty icon and you will like it!
Because they needed something to determine your team and didn't want to program a popup that said "pick your team!" because then the team would have to be assigned and associated to your account.
