Just A Thought About The New BE System...

My initial observations on this were that it seemed like players weren't getting the value they used to with the IP gains after each game. Since then, I'm beginning to think it's less about getting less value, and more about it not FEELING like you're making progress. But there is still one issue that I think could be fixed to make people feel better about it....

Right now, it suffers from luck being a factor. If you get a lot of cheap champion shards, you get less reward for the time you put in than if you get expensive shards. Sure, they say they've included bad luck protection, but what does that even mean? That if you get horrible rewards for five straight levels, the sixth one will be better?

Now, I'm using simple math to illustrate my point here, but why not a simple solution like this?: If a 6300 champion shard disenchants for 1600 IP, and you level up and get a champion shard that only disenchants for 800, why not have the capsule also include 800 BE? Then bad luck will no longer be a factor. Every capsule you get at level up would be of equal total value. It seems simple enough to me.

But my question is: Would it be a good fix for the issues with Blue Essence that are bothering people? I don't know. But I'm curious. What specifically is bothering people about Blue Essence if not the luck factor?

If you think for one moment that overall lower rewards, under the guise of RNG and a "better player experience", was not a 100% intentional side-effect of these changes, I've got some winning lottery tickets to sell you. At the end of the day, Riot is in it for money, and they have an excellent PR team, but there's no hiding what the real intentions were here.
