Dear Riot. The Future of League, if it ever comes.

This isn't a shit post surprisingly. Marvel Heroes is shutting down in December this year. Its basically a Diablo game with a Marvel skin over it. It sells characters and Skins very much like League of Legends. There is no Offline play. While the game is fully playable online by your self. In fact I have played it more times by myself having some good fun due to the sheer size of the roster of characters. Never once have I needed to group up in a party with other players. Far as I can tell there is no reason as to why the game couldn't be a offline single player or couch co-op game with online features but instead its a "must be online to play" title.

Once the game shuts down there will be no way of playing it. This means since March 2013, I have spent over $813 on Marvel Heroes. A drop in the bucket compared to what I have spent for League of Legends, $2,525. This is the 2nd time I have been burned by a online game(1st Yu-Gi-Oh online) shutting down losing money with nothing to show for. I am seriously troubled by this and afraid of ever spending money on any online title ever again. Its why I don't play Hearthstone or spend money on Overwatch. If Lol was to shut down in the future for what ever reason would you make it possible for the game to be played, possibly over a lan connection or peer-to-peer system. So we all could still continue to play this game as opposed to just losing everything we have spent and supported this game with?

Damn that game is shutting down?

I know the guy that helped make D2 was a big part of it and I spent a lot of my life on D2. The marvel ARPG never interested me (I love diablo 1 and 2's lore and settings) but I hoped it would do well.

It did well enough to stay profitable since 2013. Rumors is Disney is pulling the plug. It wasn't hugely popular but it was about 2000+ players on PC with a stable audience and a much larger audience on X box 1 and PS4. They spent so much money on the update and it did bring in newer and more players, but I guess to Disney it wasn't enough.

Already crossed my mind, so I'll leave this guy to tell about more options. https://youtu.be/kmvcJuBOaQE?t=951
