Leaving League

Done with league of legends. I was a player since the beta. I have logged on countless hours and unlocked champs and a lot of skins. I am leaving league because of the following reasons.

1. Toxicity - Though the tribunal helps and reporting negative players helps there is a vast majority of players in ranked that just flame teammates and blame instead of actually work together for wins. I haven't been through a single loss in ranked and even a lot of wins where I have to mute all just to play.

2. The meta - The meta of league makes it nearly impossible to play games without the "pro players selections". If you are not running Top bruiser, jungle, mid AP, supp, and ADC bot people call you troll and flame from the beginning. I think this really hurts what the game designers were trying to do but players are complacent and don't want to try new strategies. Once again the mute all command helps but it also doesn't encourage team communication.

3. Player loss vs team loss - 1 player cannot carry a team into a win but 1 bad player can cause a team to lose. I know this game overall comes down to teamwork but those of us that don't have 5 man premades are tired of the random teaming in which one person can flame the whole team and get satisfaction as he ruins gameplay for the other four. Even mute all can't stop this. A 9 man report is not as satisfying as just playing a game without a player who flames.

4. Fun - The game just isn't fun anymore. It becomes just chasing LP and being super competitive. Super repetitive and non-expansive. The rotating game modes tries to address this but just doesn't add much to the game.

5. Time - ARAM has added a fast paced short battle sequence but even then teams even matched can take an hour or more to complete the match. You can't log off, take breaks, or leave (without penalty) once a match is started. You have to commit to the next 15 min - 2 hours to finish the match or risk getting reported and potential account suspension.

Well from someone who has seen it from the early stages I have to say Riot games you have been successful and made a good run. Just time for me to find other things to do. Good luck in the future.
